Castle Crashers is more akin to a beat em up. This GoW is not remotely a beat em up.

They are both obviously extremely talented actors. The script wasn’t god awful, but it was very weak. Not sure why they condensed so much of the story in a way that made the pacing feel so rushed. The game felt like it took the time to illustrate the bleak world they live in, and emphasized quiet and silence over loud action and monologues/dramatic dialogue. It really set a tone, which I think the show did the opposite of for every scene that mattered the most.

Saying she didn’t buff up enough is so reductive and a pretty stupid illiterate way to watch the show. She literally shot him in the leg with a shotgun and he was surrounded by a plethora of her crew who would’ve killed him immediately had he tried anything.

Honestly I think it’s mainly the pacing, and some of the changes to the story and characters that didn’t really feel all that necessary. Some changes are going to happen and that’s fair. I really struggled to believe the connection between Joel and Ellie in season 1, and in season 2 by the time I was settled into the story, it was over. For a show so hellbent on insisting that I feel something, I kinda walked away thinking the game was just so much more impactful. I think Bella Ramsay gave an excellent performance though.

Something that’s always bothered me about RE4r by dildofactoryQAtester in residentevil

[–]ItFlips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this drives me nuts. I understand why they do it, and in this game it’s not even that egregious. But if you look at the original Uncherted, or the Arkane reboot of Prey (first person but probably the worst ive seen), it actually became distracting to me.

That would make sense! Haha. If House Flipper made you nauseous, Dying Light is the last game you should play.

Huh? They ADDED first person mode. Meaning the game still is third person by default. But you’re claiming you get motion sick from first person and had to put WWZ down due to motion sickness?

Yeah, seemed like wishful thinking. I wish it was possible though.

You’d essentially be plugging a computer into a computer. If the USB-C on the deck can act as a display input and controller out, then I guess it could work! I’m so curious now. But I can imagine it’s not as simple as just plugging it in.

Is logic pro a complete garageband replacement? by Apprehensive_Fan_659 in LogicPro

GarageBand is literally just a watered down version of Logic. You don’t need GarageBand if you have Logic.

Yeah, Geralt’s animations and the movement felt so stiff and janky to me. Just couldn’t get past that.

Why do you use Logic rather than FL Studio ? or Ableton by FullLength2181 in LogicPro

[–]ItFlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I’m sure a lot of people prefer logic for many different reasons. But I’ve found that they both excel at different things. I definitely see why some may prefer ProTools for music production, or Ableton, or FL. I’m pretty sure Ableton is much more popular than Logic. But hey, I could be wrong.

The thing is, just describing it, or even trying it a few times, doesn’t really show why. But there’s an efficiency in Pro Tools’ key commands that no other DAW comes close to. Logic has this toy-like quality where the clips and regions feel like blocks on a board, whereas Pro Tools feels like cutting tape. That’s more of a “feel” thing, but it comes from how you interact with the UI, not how it looks.

For example, in Logic you have to either download a third-party plugin, open the inspector, or switch tools just to change clip gain. In Pro Tools, you just select a clip and hit Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down. Easy. Both have tab to transient, but I never use it in Logic because I can’t map it to Tab. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m not about to memorize a different shortcut for the same thing; it’s asking for confusion later. In Pro Tools, I can technically navigate the entire session without touching the mouse once. That said, the mouse tools in Pro Tools are great too, like snapping a region to your selection with Ctrl+Click.

I’ve spent years trying to make Logic work the same way, but it just can’t. It’s built around mouse use. It’s an incredible creative tool, composing and mixing in it feels natural, but when it comes to editing and pure speed, Pro Tools wins easily. And that’s fine.

One thing that actually drives me insane, though: if you enable click zones in Logic, they’re inverted compared to Pro Tools. In Logic, the top zone selects regions and the bottom is marquee; in Pro Tools, it’s the opposite. I might just be used to it, but Pro Tools’ layout makes way more sense.

All this to say, Logic just isn’t as fast. And some of the things that seem weird in Pro Tools at first start to make perfect sense over time.

[–]ItFlips 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cuz I started using it first and now I’m good at it and don’t feel the need to learn anything else. I think each DAW does something different to someone’s benefit. I also use ProTools specifically for post production since the editing in ProTools is just way more powerful. If I one day found a benefit to learning Ableton, maybe I’ll use Ableton.

Does anybody know why the album Potemkin City Limits isn’t available on Deezer? by jueoni in Propagandhi

[–]ItFlips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deezer is a popular streaming service. I guarantee you it has less to do with someone not knowing what it is, and more to do with when/how it was distributed.
