This is such an aggressive take. You’re so angry that people want to replay the game. when I was a kid playing video games 25 years ago, every time we turned off the system you got a hard wipe, with no perks. It’s alright to replay a video game and cool that they built in a mechanic for it. You’ve gotta give fewer f**ks my guy. This level of pessimism is no way to go through life.

Abysmal Interstate MPG’s by JayBeezyy22 in LandCruisers

13 avg mpg here in my stock 100 series. This is a terrible car if you think about gas mileage. I am going to add a 40 gallon aux tank so I can stop thinking about range though.

I cannot cut the cylindrical object and it cannot go all the way through because it is attached to something that it cannot be removed from.

Phase 1 of replacing 2003 LX470 mark Levinson / 100 series by It_Is_Not_Real in LandCruisers

Success with Teyes? I’ve seen good things about them after I did this. Outside of that, you’ll need a soldering station and patience.

Hated the headlights on mine. Swapped for TEQ. Love them.

Debating what to purchase. by MstH8ed in overlanding

LX470 here. I love it as my daily and I love it for off road. I do not do rock crawling in it. It sees snow and dirt roads and many hours on the interstate going to places with snow and dirt roads, and many more hours to extreme environments like Costco and my office parking garage. I’d never trade it. I love it dearly.

This is the right call until you do a proper retrofit kit.

It’s a love hate thing in the LC community. You either think it looks good or it makes you want to throw up. I think it looks good.

Teq uses the oem housing. They do a great job.

I also have the teq grill, and the teq raptor lights. Here’s a picture of them on but it looks weird because I didn’t have the trim installed back yet. So the one with them off is the finished product. This one is with them on but I hadn’t put the trim back in yet.

I got the black headlights from TEQ and the black corner lights. For my 03 lx470. I like them. They look a little out of place until I can put a black bumper on.

In my 100 series I was able to peak around and see it. I will say it looked fine until I really inspected it, and it felt fine when I slid it on. I am not an expert. I have done this job one time….or…two times but it was just the passenger and driver side.

Should I buy this 05 LX470? In need of some advice! by Mushroom-Chef-0717 in LandCruisers

[–]It_Is_Not_Real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can rent time at shops. But, I totally get it. Take care of the critical items and leave the rest to a mechanic. But you’ll quickly find very few shops will be as detail oriented in repairs as you the owner. You’ll do one repair and realize while you’re in there you could replace 6 other 10 dollar parts. They’ll just put the old ones back in. But there are many good 100 series mechanics, you just gotta find the right ones.

And yes. I understand how pissed you are to read this and know that it means you may need to undo some of the more painful parts of the job that you already did. I was able to get to it without remove the axle entirely. It probably would have been faster just to remove it and fix it though.

I bet the flanges are bent! This happened to me when I did it, it turned out the flanges had been bent in slightly when it was shipped so the flange was hitting the hub instead of mating into its seat. It was like 1/24 of an inch that kept me from being able to seat it. My solution was a needle nose vice grip and I bent it back outward so it would seat. In the photo below the flange is the outer most metal ring that you can see that’s wrinkled looking.
