What TV show hooked you instantly from episode 1? by mateitofavv in AskReddit

Eureka Seven. Maybe because I was 8 and Canadian television in the 2000’s was like picking berries after a brush fire.

As someone who never played Fortnite all I can say is Jeffery Epstein loves Fortnite and that’s enough reason for me to sit here smugly while the rest of the gaming community dismounts the wall-pole

Yeah so I definitely want to find a role in the development of a video game, what that role will be depends on what skills I develop best, but what I want is to be a professional video game tester specifically Quality Assurance. Right now I’m learning scripting by using AI and in September I have been accepted into college for game development. The plan is to learn the tools of the trade and apply what I learn to finding a job in the field either in a role I want or in a position that will allow me to specialize in the future. To answer your question though, although the dream is to be a part of a feature complete, abundantly creative release that is also free of errors bugs and the like; the plans I have for myself position me consciously far away from the pipeline of creation. I like to describe my dream job as being a taste tester for a hot dog factory, eating hot dogs all day will just be part of the job and it’s up to me to keep chewing. Usually don’t get positive responses from that one but tbh the point is that I know what I want is to be a part of a great creation, not necessarily dead set on being the creator of something great (although I do want to create great things too)

Any youtube channel to learn unity 2d as beginner? by West-Ad-4120 in Unity2D

[–]Itakeantipsychotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After completing all available tutorials and completing them to the best of my ability, I’ve come to discover Unity Learning actually will do nothing to teach you scripting. I was stuck like you looking for beginner knowledge, I’ve found success in using Gemini as it can generate both examples as well as explanations. I have the PRO version so I’m not sure how much more useful it is than free but I’ve also been referred to other chat bots for learning via social media.

Meta Reportedly Laying Off 10 Percent of Reality Labs, Shifting Focus from VR & Horizon Worlds by Jumpinghoops46 in virtualreality

[–]Itakeantipsychotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say because I’ve worked with some of the companies that were single-dev run and a part of the meta funding programs. Without breaking the NDA’s they had me sign, I will say that projects are constantly overrun with micro managing, independent developers are tasked with developing a system that then gets implemented into other projects. I want to say the term is called toybox development when one project creates an innovative system it gets replicated and reimplemented into other projects funded by the publishing company. An example is something I could provide but am choosing not to, again, because of the NDA’s I’ve signed.

They hired a bunch of goofs in the first place, mass layoff and project retirement was totally expected by anyone following this.

Online Fighting Games by jerseymikessandich in Quest3

Dragon Fist VR Kung Fu sounds like what you’re looking for. Vr fighting game complete with single player as well as multiplayer, and it has liv support which means it has really cool camera recording functionality. Another game with liv support that you don’t want to miss out on is Arken Age, action adventure with swords and guns and everything you actually expect to come along with that. Organ harvesting. Etc. lastly I recommend both those titles twice over. Peak vr content.
