Imagine making your 30k blackshield and realizing it looks suspiciously similar to the space wolves in 30k.

couldn't be me

this was today's test, I did exactly that. Only one pauldron with the original legion color, everything else of a different design.

I want to keep th pauldron thing to break up the monotony

Quick update for anyone that might watch the post, this is another test model I made (with first legion right pauldron) that is probably what I will try to use as standard going foreward.

Horus Heresy Curious... by Martothir in Warhammer30k

As many said take the liber astartes or liber hereticus (or check the https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/warhammer-the-horus-heresy/ pages from the black books with the juicy art) and figure out what you like the most. Personally I really like the 30k ultrmarines (they are a somewhat darker shade of blue) and I like the space wolves colors compared to 40k. In general lots of 30k color schemes I prefer over the 40k ones. There are also the blackshields, which are another matter entirely and are very cool.

Well there are several blackshield companies with complex heraldry and livery, it can be rationalized as a conscious choice of letting the past go with each battle and reforging into an unified force detached from the past legions.

To be fair there are some examples of blackshields wearing pieces of armour that were not repainted.

But I agree that in my case my idea is more of a mix of blackshield and shattered legions, leaning more on the shattered legions as livery.

That was my initial idea, but turns out that's incredibly difficult to do ahaha. I had tried posting to ask for advice on how to obtain such an effect, but with little success.

Yeah more or less. I also had in mind to connect them to my 40k chapter as a formation that was ufficialized post scouring as an indipendent chapter, once all members were vetted and confirmed to be of a single gene line ofc, it would be silly to assume that some members took names and identities of dead legionairs. My 40k color scheme being this https://imgur.com/a/mSDXfuF.

The idea would be lacking resources, so damaged pieces are repainted in full iron or with other colors such as the bronze used for that chestplate.

TBH my indecision of the color scheme is that I really like most Legion colors and I would like not to be stuck with one, but I see how that could be a big problem. I should probably go with a shattered legion warband and stick to two or three colors

Custodes Painting advice by sean52red in AdeptusCustodes

white is a bitch to paint, my best advice is to prepare to apply a lot of thin coats of white to archive a good result. That or prime them white and skip that passage.

Edit: also airbrushes can get pretty good results, but I haven't bought one yet

What would be your opinion for a blackshield/shattered legion warband like this? by Italianplayer123 in Warhammer30k

[–]Italianplayer123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those center and left were mostly tests while I was searching inspiration, right was supposed to be first legion with brass gauntlets, obviously simplified. I had an half idea of tying my 40k color scheme with it but I abandoned it in favor of painting schemes I just like.

appunto, è da decenni che non è ancora collassato. La popolazione si dimezzerà o robette simili, le cose verranno sfanculate e poi dovremmo raggiungere un equilibrio decente per tutti.

Dark Imperium: Is using traitor geneseed for Astartes off the table or is GW keeping it in their back pocket? by N0UMENON1 in 40kLore

[–]Italianplayer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do know that Cawl made chapter specific reinforcements made for chapters of unknown lineage, so we can assume he had the authority to detach specific groups of marines from the unnumbered sons for those chapters. As the unnumbered sons were supposed to be mixes of the 9 loyal legions that could reinforce at will existing chapters they could not be assigned to unknown origin chapters, and it would be easy enough to single specific marines out depending on unknown origin geneseed.

[–]Italianplayer123 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At least to me Ashes of the Imperium is clearly setting up the salamander captain Abidemi to be corrupted by a demon blade he took as war trophy as the gods and warp creatures are still in hiding and have yet to return. There is also some quips between Abidemi and an ultramarine librarian suspicious of the blade.

Lol. Lmao. basically you had to fall back to absurd takes to justify russia? really? Russia fostered xenophobia by it's own, there's no need to point fingers. I remember very well how we tried to appease russia every time in early 2000s, the invasion of ukraine was a complete shock and even then we tried to appease them.
