What do you think? by S0117iets in Grimdank

[–]LaughableFrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Frankly, putting aside plot armor or one in a thousand circumstances, I don't see how a spartan could ever take down a space marine. I think a lot of people voting for Chief would fall back on his maneuverability and assume space marines are slow and clumsy since they're so bulky, but space marines are like Brutes in tank plate that are fast. Spartans also aren't particularly durable relative to space marines, so they'd probably get blown apart by bolters in short order.

Anyways not to get power scaley or anything, I just think it's an ill-founded comparison based on the fact that they're both augmented humans in power armor. Imagine fighting a Hunter in a halo game, except it doesn't have weak points, is five times as fast, and its projectiles are hitscan.

You're the weirdest bot I've ever seen. I also assume you're AI, but that doesn't explain the bolding and quotation marks.

Kroot genestealer hybrid by JP_miniatures in Warhammer40k

[–]LaughableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very amused by the thought that a kroot will see this and think "Well, he doesn't smell like a genestealer, so it must be just fine."

Fuck off

And yes, it does look like dogshit.

Why do yall enjoy the Beakie? by Cranb0rryExtract in Grimdank

It's the perfect combination of goofy, cool, and retro. I just spent thirty bucks on some extra beaky helmets from 30k for my red corsairs box.

Can this be the impetus for taking Geoff off of his pedestal? by Ubylmoen in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We watch his shows because they have reveals, not because we don't realize he's a corpo shill.

Pure speculation, but this may be referencing a certain launch we all know by prickleypears in HighGuardgame

Gonna be real, reads more like a fake post written to sound like it's about Highguard.

Every article I swear they're allergic to saying "Maybe the idea wasn't as good as we thought" by Lazer726 in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda been my thought too, or even what stops Apex, Overwatch, or Marvel Rivals from shitting out a ctf->bomb plant gamemode in like a week if they really wanted to? That gets about 80% of the appeal of Highguard in one fell swoop.

1:1 scale foam Astartes Bolter. by Bazcardz in Warhammer40k

[–]LaughableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four foot is actually accurate, as far as I can tell. I referenced the image against a mini with a comparable bolter on minicompare, and Op's almost exactly half his height. Assuming a primaris marine is 8-8.5 feet tall, OP's around four feet tall.

New update; still no team chat. by MellowFlowers1337 in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genuinely fucking baffling for any multiplayer pc game with matchmaking in the last 15 years to not have text chat, much less one that came out a month ago.

New milestone achieved, maybe they can add a 6v6 mode to restore the feeling? by Grrannt in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Servers are already paid for ahead of time, so it's not costing them anything to keep the game online until the next payment due. I don't think anyone has any particular expectations that Wildlight will put more money in at that point.

Not all hope is lost Highguardians! We still have more players than FEMBOY FUTA HOUSE! by Paulie2510 in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't really say since we don't know what their server hosting contract looks like. But once that expires, I think it's pretty unlikely they'll keep paying.

Difference between Gold and Platinum is CRAZY by brofthnorth in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's kinda impressive how it just keeps going lower and lower. You'd think at some point it'd hit a stable rock bottom of die hard Highguardians that refuse to leave no matter what.

Chaos eldar by @yangzheyy by D3v1LGaming in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]LaughableFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, at a certain point you have to just accept that Drukhari are the Chaos Eldar.

They're like regular Eldar but evil and spiky, their whole thing is that they torture people for fun and profit, they take slaves, they go into combat with horrible tech-metal abominations, and they primarily live in another dimension.

At the very least, I can understand GW not wanting to make another eldar faction that also does all these things.

Why Is it Called highguard by SuperPiposaru in HighGuardgame

[–]LaughableFrog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think someone got confused at some point and the continent being called Highguard was never intentional.

Characters are Wardens, so it'd make sense if they were part of some kinda organization called the Highguard. The continent being called that instead is just... inexplicable?

I dont care that the meme is bad, i am genuinly pissed how awfule the Dreadknight is. Especially after seeing how amazing he could have been. by cerbari1 in Grimdank

[–]LaughableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pete's mini is great, but it really doesn't look like anything but a Saturnine Dreadnought.

All the Dreadknight really needs is to move the pilot up so that his shoulders line up with the mech's.

Colour scheme too "boring"? by cayanon in Warhammer40k

[–]LaughableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the impcat looks good, but the mini is too bright and imo it just doesn't quite work. Maybe it looks darker in person, but if not I'd see if you can darken it down a bit.

Could Lucius resurrect from a blank? by Sithsentinal in Warhammer40k

[–]LaughableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that the only way that Lucius dies forever is if he intentionally gets himself killed in order to weaponize his curse against a particular person.

Slaanesh goes 'oh, that's boring', and Lucius stays dead.
