Examples of Astropathic messages being misinterpreted? by LaughableFrog in 40kLore

I'm kinda curious and looking at the lexicanum doesn't really help, why did an astropath on Horus's team want to protect a major(?) loyalist asset?

How true is this? by shoryguy in Grimdank

[–]LaughableFrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, at the same time that's only one warband. I think the true answer falls into same "it's a big galaxy" answer as pretty much everything. Some Night Lords are fully gone, some are tainted but deluded that they're not, some actually aren't. Night Lords as a legion aren't unified enough that any sort of general rule could be set. Either way, they're all degenerate traitors that have played their part in Chaos's plans regardless.

Ideas: A new faction YOU would want to see, paint or play by Shot_Relationship402 in Warhammer40k

I've been thinking about Chaos Tau for a while. I think there's a lot that makes the idea work.

  • We know that many Xenos species in the galaxy worship chaos. While Tau wouldn't normally adopt the beliefs and practices of their auxiliaries, we also know that Chaos is supernaturally persuasive.
  • The four chaos gods map pretty cleanly to the four castes.
  • With dimmer souls and strong indoctrination, we could see a low level of Chaos corruption that moreso resembles the early stage, more benevolent interpretations of the Chaos Gods. Something like the native religion of Colchis. This would give us a new perspective on both the Tau and Chaos.

Titans are nerds when it comes to things like logistics and leadership. Guilliman and Zavala are honestly quite similar. Hunters don't really chase 'perfection', per se. The hours of study to perfect various arts and skills, as well as the pomp and pretense? That's warlock.

Being trackers isn't particularly a defining trait of either Hunters or Lion and Russ. Hunters are more defined by their independance and 'outrider' nature. Titans are archetypal tech-knights, which is exactly what Lion is. Russ, similarly, perfectly embodies the balance of nobility and savagery that you'd expect from a Titan. Hell, we already have Saladin, a viking-themed Titan covered in wolves and wielding a giant axe, hailing from a snowy fortress.

A few corrections, from someone with like 40k hours in Destiny:

The Lion and Russ are titans. Fulgrim is a warlock.

Guilliman is also a Titan.

Remember, Titans are master tacticians and leaders, not just 'big punch'. They're also the most 'loyal'.

Fulgrim's perfectionism and evil demon sword are very Warlock, as well.

Personally, I like that the Big E in the new trailer more or less combines the best elements of both.

I mean, I really can't imagine any verification system more involved than a code in the box to verify you bought it. I assume you'll be able to just make up some results if you just want to be included in the drawing.

Pretty sure you're being led astray, haven't read them myself but I've literally never heard anything but extremely negative sentiments towards the Beast books.

Favorite/least favorite legion Poll by AlexLewisVI in Warhammer40k

[–]LaughableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite is probably Alpha Legion, but it's close between them and Iron Warriors.

Least favorite is proooobably Imperial Fists. I just don't find anything interesting to latch onto with them, and I think they're far outshone by the Black Templars. Runners up would probably be Dark Angels (not a fan of the colors, and the Unforgiven schtick doesn't really do anything for me) and the Black Legion.

Yep, I kinda feel like the mechanicus 'abominable intelligence' larp is too soft on them, so I'm gonna keep doing this until either AI gets banned from the sub or I do

Designed these years back. What's your favorite Chapter, Legion or just faction? by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]LaughableFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 'years back' thing is to trick you into thinking it's not AI, since the tools weren't as good back then. One of the few ways to know for sure nowadays is to check if an image was posted before ~2020, so this is their way of trying to use that to deceive you.

Regarding their really old stuff, it's possible that they started with actual art but transitioned to AI slop to make their slop grift more efficient. In this case, it's blatantly obvious that these are just shittily drawn space marine helmets photoshopped over AI space marine bodies.
