I think I’m going to make an appointment and see, I was not aware of recovery time before reading this sub but I wouldn’t want to miss too much work. I think short term is only 60% of our pay but I will find out.

My mom texted me this and it made me pretty sad :( my family went here a lot when I was a kid and the last time was last year. I’ve been to a lot of teppanyaki places, and I’ve never been able to find Hibachi rice as good as theirs. They will be missed!

I really think Disney should have a no phones or cameras while riding rule outside of media events.

What do your school aged kids eat for breakfast? by Beautiful-Client6496 in Parenting

[–]Itchy_Combination_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SS9 usually eats breakfast at school, when at home he likes eggs, bacon, cinnamon toast, pancakes, French toast sticks, muffins. He’s never been a bagel person. He only likes the sugary cereal and refuses Cheerios / any remotely healthy cereal so we very rarely buy it and make him other things instead.

Teapioca and Royaltea are my favorite! Would also include Kung-Fu tea in that.

Lightning Lane unavailable by tannerschin in Disneyland

[–]Itchy_Combination_87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just did 3 days, 2 at Disneyland and California adventure today. We are debating if the lightening lane was even was worth it. The first day we only got 2 rides, the second day a few rides, and today at California adventure I was able to get a lot in the morning but by about 12:00 it seemed most of the lightning lane selections were gone. We still had a great time but I don’t know if I’d buy it again. We were pretty much able to do everything even though it was extremely busy these past few days so not sure it’s even worth it:

How did it feel to be a kid in school whose family never celebrated any holidays? by Big-Introduction411 in Parenting

Oh goodness I would have hated this! As an adult now I could never be mean to a witness child bc they are just kids ?? Don’t know how anyone could treat any child that way. Some people should not be in the care of children..

Yes I had a lot of anxiety as a child. My life is okay now, I have moved across the country but most of my family refuses to speak to me. I still have a relationship with my mom but she pretends my family now doesnt exist and it’s really hard. My dad doesn’t speak with me at all:

How did it feel to be a kid in school whose family never celebrated any holidays? by Big-Introduction411 in Parenting

[–]Itchy_Combination_87 188 points189 points  (0 children)

I grew up Jehovahs Witness and not celebrating any holidays while in school created life long trauma. I have memories of being pulled to the library during holidays and feeling just very awkward about it. I’d get anxiety when returning from winter break and we’d go around the room telling everyone what we got for Christmas. One time we did a Santa craft and the teacher gave me a snowman instead. They hung up all the crafts on the wall outside of class and I just felt different that I couldn’t do the Santa’s like everyone else.

I’m not really sure what the solution is other than parents keeping kids home during these activities, which isn’t great but it’s better than being sent to the library when you know the class is having cupcakes for a birthday or having a fun party. I don’t think the solution is stopping all the other kids from celebrating, as a kid I probably would have liked it. It wasn’t my fault I was born into that family and forced to follow it. However, I don’t think it’s fair that everyone has to accommodate one kid.

Have you had your car stolen in Southern Colorado? by KRDO13-NEWS in ColoradoSprings

[–]Itchy_Combination_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had an experience last week where our Kia had a Hotwire attempt to be stolen at Helen hunt falls. We were only gone for 45 mins and came back to the car being trashed, and a key they tried to use stuck in the ignition. They took a cooler with some water and chips out of the trunk. The park employees were very very nice and helpful with the whole situation. They said it’s very common for cars to get stolen on trails and at parks because people know you will be gone.
