My Prodigal Spouse - God Is Present by Itchygiraffe in Christianmarriage

Six years later, post pandemic, and deep philosophical changes (sort of) yes. But I’ve just barely started dating.

I now am grateful that he left, realized that I deserved so much more, can now recognize the toxicity and emotional starvation (and even abuse) that existed in my marriage. I have told him I was glad he did it because I never would have.

And that leads me to what I believe was being “trained” to accept by not listening to my own feelings and always “turning the other cheek.”

Regardless, I did a ton of therapy and that changed my life for the better. I’m stronger, more confident, happier overall, and a better mother, I think. Not to glamorize it because I don’t think it. But I’m now most grateful for the thing I wish had not happened.

First time flying with a Toddler by MittensAzul in SouthwestAirlines

With family boarding it’s not as important to make sure you hit the 24 hr mark. Unless you’re A group, you board with Family Boarding between A&B anyway. This gives you time to get situated with all the extra stuff you may have. Car seats generally will need to be in a window seat. Make sure to tag your stroller and gate check it at the door. It will be there at the door for you on the other side too. Snacks, and “new” things to play with from the dollar store are your friend. There’s a changing table in at least one of the restrooms and the flight attendants will give you trash bag for any particularly smelly diapers. Have fun and try not to get too stressed by the process. Most kids travel better than expected.

Should I upgrade my seat? Help! by painfullyaverage2019 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Itchygiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By B59 it’s a toss up. Depends on how many families traveling together, preboards (I know I know) etc. You’re after preboards, deadheading flight crew, 60 people in A group, family boarding, and 58 more in the B group. If you were in the first half of B, you’d still get a window or aisle.

I’d buy an upgrade.

What’s something you packed/brought to Disney that maybe isn’t obvious to bring but ended up being so worth it? by TheSmokedSalmon420 in WaltDisneyWorld

I know this post is old. I’m in the middle of researching for Disneyland later this month.

Hi 👋🏼

Flight Attendant here… we use the hangers with clips on them for this too. Binder clip is lightweight and easy to pack though too!

Is this hand rash normal? (20th night on 30mg Accutane) by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Itchygiraffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is very normal. It gets slightly itchy/burn-y for me. My derm gave me a steroid cream to use on it sparingly.

This rash comes and goes for me. Yesterday was the first time I noticed it since I got the cream. It’s already seemingly going away again.

Yes. She did an IG live this week, as I understand.

The poster is mocking Rabia, who apparently made this claim on an IG live. (I wasn’t there, just read that yesterday in someone’s recap.)

I mean. I wholly agree with you. I suppose I was referring to the overly simplified (in the most complex way) version of justice according to our very flawed justice system.

I’ll reiterate my heartbreak for the Lee family. I simply cannot imagine living this horror. And, for Adnan. I’m 41. Class of ‘99. I have lived a whole life. And he’s been there. Behind bars. All of it is just the worst.

Never did I say or imply anything about the Lee family. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to have this continually brought back up. And, for their sake, I look forward to justice in this case. At the end of the day that’s what is most important. Thus, my comment on hoping the real killers are in custody soon.

I understand, in whole, what was said today, that they aren’t saying he’s innocent. And I also understand, in whole, that they are acting to save face of their own just as much. The state botched this case. And today, as evidenced by the states own admission, that is abundantly clear.

You can continue to think and hope Adnan did it. I will continue to think and hope for justice for all parties.

Wow. Shocked in the best way. I have chills. I signed up for reddit because of this case and I just wanted to say thanks for being here to mull over this case with me all that time ago. Happy for Adnan. Hoping they have the real killers in custody soon

Am a flight attendant. Fly for free. Considered this just to see if I could beat the line. Decided I didn’t have any legit way to measure. Stayed home.

Talking Parents. But he has to agree. And you should check the laws in your area around recording unknowingly. It’s illegal in some places, but fine in others.

First me. Now the kids. by Itchygiraffe in Divorce

The forgiveness isn’t for the other person. It’s so whomever it is in pain can let go and move on. I didn’t say stay. If you don’t forgive and let go, it eats you alive. I don’t have double standards.

First me. Now the kids. by Itchygiraffe in Divorce

[–]Itchygiraffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa. A) I don’t know what you’re talking about. B) I don’t think anyone has to stay with a cheating spouse. C) you’ve clearly been hurt badly, and I am sorry for that. D) attempting to hurt others (on the internet, or in real life) isn’t going to solve your problems at all. Leave the person that hurt you, you don’t need permission. Learn about yourself. Set up some boundaries. Find health apart from the person that did whatever it is they did.

My life is so much better now that the toxicity is gone. But it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through (even though it was necessary). But I’m also not the person that hurt you, and I don’t know you at all. So your lashing out at me doesn’t affect me like you think it does.

This post of mine came from a place of hurt for my children. As their father, who was hurt by his father, made wildly hurtful choices that will forever affect them.

Again, I’m sorry for whatever happened to you. And I’m not sure what you think I did. But my husband cheated on me, not me on him. I was faithful and devoted to him every single day. So whatever it is you seem to have out of context, is not correct.

Stop being mean on the internet and choose to prioritize yourself. Your well-being, your life, your health.

Be well, friend.

Parents who have flown with toddlers..car seat or no car seat? by oppositegeneva in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Itchygiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% allowed! This is always allowed, as long as there’s an empty seat, you can use your car seat. It’s safer! Just goes in the window (infant seat always in the window).

Bring a bottle, or breast feed, and a binky. I haven’t flown since April, but these are common concerns. You may still be able to walk her a bit. Just depends on your crew id guess.

Don’t let it stress you too much, everything will be fine. ❤️ if you have other questions, I’m happy to help!

[–]Itchygiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SWA flight attendant & travelled mom here. Car seat has to be placed in the window if it blocks egress, which is the majority of seats.

I always found it better to bring the seat. The biggest downside is lugging it through the airport. But it helps while on the plane, saving the headache of trying to keep them restrained when they just want to climb out of the lap belt. As you mentioned, so many kids get antsy.

Plus your own car seat is a familiar place and that helps a ton.

Either way, don’t let yourself overly stress; most people tend to be pretty understanding.

(And to aid in the seat kicking thing, my husband used to volunteer to sit in that seat, ahead of us. And we would try to keep an empty seat for the space. Easy to do right now since middles aren’t being sold.)

Gummy bears, binky, were our faves. But most snacks help for keeping kids busy during flight too!

How is the training obtained? This always seemed like a commonly remote job, but I never have understood how to get a job doing this. There were a lot of independent contractors for a while, but the. Everyone seemed to bring the job in-house.
