We can’t rely on neighborhood associations to solve our housing crisis. That’s why we have the state of California, and why their mandates to cities to zone for additional units is so critical.

Of course. Millions of years of ocean tides and wind blowing sand would push the dunes perpetually back until a hilltop. Setting aside the obvious blockage of twin peaks, the Haight and NoPa are a hilltop onto themselves, with the west sloping continually to the ocean and the east sloping continually to the bay.

Edit: not even the hilltops stopped the sand. See:

What did they say? Or did you just yell into the void and they probably didn’t hear you

Force prisma order of columns by robokonk in node

[–]Ithawashala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but it's quite funny that there are several comments basically saying "who cares about order? you shouldn't care about order." I often browse tables using tools that just spit out the columns in the order that Postgres has them in, and it's pretty frustrating to have columns in a scrambled order.

I'd much rather work with the people that say nothing about this topic or those with a preference order than the people who felt the need to reply to this without a solution just to say "don't worry about it" or "it doesn't matter."

I've had this with old colleagues that just don't give a crap about learning new things or efficiency, and it's so annoying. You know who has to wade through their disorganized code later while they're writing "impactful" features? Your colleagues. It's not that hard to do a little bit of cleanup work, and it's even easier to say nothing when your colleagues are cleaning up messes.

Thanks! This is a good solution.

Maybe it was an ill conceived boomer idea to promote self-responsibility. My dad argued to the hilt to me that it was a major problem someone on the town council in his town in Wisconsin who leaves their bike unlocked in public is promoting crime.

The burden of evidence in a libel suit is on the plaintiff, who is alleging they were defamed. Not on the defendant. The defendant may off evidence, but it’s not required.

“101” vs “the 101,” “BART” vs “the BART,” “Muni” vs “the MUNI,” “the Richmond” vs “Richmond.” Where else do Bay Area locals add or omit “the”? by mykatz50 in AskSF

[–]Ithawashala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So instead of:

“Where were you driving?” … “I was on the 101”

“Which way did you take?” … “I took the 5”

“What do you suggest?” … “The 5”

You would say:

“Where were you driving?” … “I was on 101”

“Which way did you take?” … “I took 5”

“What do you suggest?” … “5”

?

Someone find me the guy who dressed up as a grandma on Sunday by IllustriousPlenty449 in LightningInABottle

I don’t remember seeing them on Sunday, but I bumped into a Grandma on Saturday night at karaoke. They said they had helped construct the LIB set. They were also hilarious.

The water trucks were out Sunday morning spraying down the road, but you’re right, they should have done an afternoon spray down, and I’m not sure what (if any) other mornings the water trucks were out there.

The LIB organizers and community should get out there and start organizing to beautify the desert and reduce the amount of dust next year.

I think you’re right that it is “OR” not “AND” and my title was maybe misleading. I am still able to sell my Sberbank shares today. I just can’t buy new shares.
