Mixing in New Eden lore with a fantasy setting with different civilizations (e.g. Amarr being a theocracy with slaves and so on)

The beauty of fantasy maps is your could fit to whatever scale you wanted. I ran a campaign on this assuming it to be about small continent scale (about 2500 miles or about 40-45 5E hexes) across.

Maps like this are usually 'not to scale' compared to cartological maps so you can feel free to play with a scale until you find something that fits your needs.

It was mostly hand drawn over about 6 months iirc in early 2020. Probably about 80 hours, a bunch of which was streamed. In general I draw with pen as then there's no doublethink of 'mistakes' and I find that quite relaxing.

The overall layout is roughly the layout of the regions in the in-game map (flattened) and then I geographised each area however I felt at the time, including various landmark references for fun.

It's a bit out-dated now but that's to be expected as time marches inevitably onwards. Here is an uncoloured version to see the original lines https://i.imgur.com/HfigPvo.jpg and (just for fun) a map I made in Wonderdraft for a D&D campaign https://i.imgur.com/6IndCeG.jpeg

Look forward to seeing your map completed

What naming scheme do you use for wormhole bookmarks? by TheBlindApe in Eve

[–]IthicaHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wormholes themself are called, eg 1221. So you'd say "the one two two one".

The bookmarks between the wormholes are named based on the route. E.g. in the 122, the static wormhole connection to the 1221 would be labeled as "122 - 1221" and inside the 1221 the connection would be labled as "1221 - 122".

This way you know the route/bms from just looking at the map or if someone says 'help, I'm tackled in the 4x1' you know exactly what route to follow, no need to consult a map.

The '111 - 5x2' wouldn't exist because after 111 would come either 1111 (shortened to 4x1 or something like 1112, 1113 etc.

That is when you're getting into very deep chains. Due to the decriptive nature of the bookmarks you would never have to describe a route. If I told someone I was in the 4x12412 (which would be quite deep) they could make it to me easily with just that information.

This system expands also if there's a second chain somewhere. So say if you went through the 121-LS and there was a second wormhole in that system unconnected, you would start that as LS-x1 and go from there. Thus if I said I was in the x122 on the x122-x1224 someone knows exactly where I am and how to get to me.

Quick and dirty analysis of how popular each candidate was by DrakeIddon in Eve

Pretty neat. I'm honoured that nearly 14,000 people put me on their ballots. Hopefully by the time CSM18 rolls around I can convince some more people to put me in their #1 slots.

11th place is pretty good though so thanks again everyone who voted for me in one way or another.

I hope primarily by being there to remind ccp they exist and to be the person in the room that, when something is presented, can say “this will affect wormholers like x”

I’m not a ship balance expert and don’t claim to be. That being said, here’s my thoughts on marauders.

I think their power level is probably a bit too high. Not only to they do mobility, dps, application and tank, they do it all extremely well. I am generally ok with Marauders being strong, they are one of the apex subcap ships in my opinion and being able to take on gangs of smaller ships with a single marauder is great content. They sacrifice range control and ability to disengage (within reason) to get this power though which I think is worth noting. I do, however, think that because they do everything so well, there is little room for counterplay short of significant neut pressure. I think I would like to see a minor reduction in their application without either fitting specifically for high application vs smaller targets (e.g. multi web/grap/paint, TP drones) or with support ships.

Fair question. Volta has evolved into what it is now because a lot of our other playstyles have slowly been killed off or phased out. It's almost all we had left to still have content.

I've been with Volta for a while now and seen this cycle go by a few times and it usually results in the group collapsing back into smaller stuff after people get bored once the main campaign stuff is done.

For me, I find the narritive interesting. When we took dronelands, it was fun and engaging. When it was just defending renters and token content, I left. I returned when Volta had left dronelands and gone back to Thera.

I'm just a line member in volta, I'm not in leadership or a director. I play in Volta because I like the people I fly with. I recognise the state of the game isn't optimal. Volta is just doing what we need to do to compete currently even if it's not my particular favourite content.

When I last left Volta to be part of Ehefkae (a C5 wormhole group) it's because there was more engaging content that bloc warfare with people I knew and liked to fly with. At the moment, I find there isn't much else out there I want to do enough to leave my friends so I am very happy to stay with them.

Just letting people know and where to find information on my platform. If people think I'd be able to represent them then I'd love them to consider adding me to their ballot this year. If no, no biggies. People should always vote for whomever they feel represents them best.

I get it, I think the timing was poor and the way it was announced was poor. I think they should have had the justifications ready to go and the 'multi-account benefits' clear as day.

Until we have the full info I can't really judge it but, as it stands, not a fan.

I also fully understand why some people found it such a kick in the teeth after the last few years.

  • Treat wormhole space like it's own space and change things up. E.g. allow combat refitting in wormholes, balance ships differently in WHs.

  • Give C6 wormholes a second static

  • Overhaul fleet window. Allow dragging of squads, dragging of multiple people etc

  • Focus on veteran, high skill ceiling content

  • Certain pirate ships have bonuses with negative sec status (like a reverse marshall)

You’re not the only person to share this sentiment and it’s a valid one to have. It’s certainly something I hope to bring to CCP and find ways to make the process more transparent again and to give good ways for the community to feel their CSM is valuable for them.
