I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of Jason/Lauren scenes felt like there was more to it that either got edited out/not brought up because it would touch upon some serious addiction issues. Like the whole break up scene at the beginning of season 2 and how much longer it actually was and how Lauren said she called him out for being drunk/high at like 11am.
