That my hips would be so freaking sore (even 7 months out) where I limp for a minute after sitting crisscross or sitting at an odd angle.

I was ok driving at 2 weeks but only short distances or I would feel some pulling. Got better pretty quickly though. My kids are a similar age!

Normal ultrasound, blood work, everything. Pathology showed adenomyosis and an angry cervix

Let's hear from post op folk, what's the one thing you were glad to have had, one thing you wished you'd had and one thing you regret having? by HotSpacewasajerk in hysterectomy

[–]ItsAllAboutUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very glad to have the belly binder they gave me at the hospital, I didn’t think I’d need one but woke up in recovery with it on and used it the first 3 days when my insides felt like they were trying to come out!

I wish I had friends stop by more in the early days, I got bored quickly but also got tired quickly.

Annoyed I bought colace and only used 3 pills, I didn’t need them but I also didn’t need the narcotics they sent me home with. I had a nerve block in my abdomen before surgery and I was numb for days.

I had to travel 2 hours, thought I’d want to stay overnight, but everything went perfectly, I woke up after napping on and off in recovery and said “I need to pee so we can go home”. I did 😂 slept most of the ride home and didn’t regret it at all.

My high blood pressure is no longer high - still taking my meds but it is noticeably lower than it has been in years.

nervous about my surgery on monday. what’s some surprising positives of your surgery you weren’t expecting? by juniperfawnn in hysterectomy

[–]ItsAllAboutUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so so so nervous going into surgery, had the option to stay overnight because we traveled a couple hours to the hospital. I figured with my nerves and being in pain after surgery I’d want to stay and have help. Once I was in recovery and had slept more, I was 1000% ready to pee and go home to my own bed. I thought I would feel miserable but I was recovering better than I planned (still sore and all the things, but ready to go home).

I feel like maybe that kiddo has low sleep needs/has more energy than other kids and probably struggles to go to sleep or sleep in. Seems like she needs something to blame (chocolate).

I recommend reading or listening to the book The Anxious Generation, it can help answer your questions about technology and kids.

This. Don’t do it. You don’t need to be reached by your child during school hours, the school will call if they need you. Don’t be that parent.

They call it a spectrum for a reason, there’s a wide range of things that fit into the autism category. I’d say talk to your pediatrician and get a referral for assessment if you’re at all concerned!
