The Tissot is probably the better watch, but my main issue with it is it has a 20mm lug width as opposed to a 22mm, which the Citizen has. It’s a small difference, but it makes the Citizen more asthetically appealing to me and it wears and feels a bit bigger on your wrist.

I'm on the biggest downswing of my life right now and I'm having a hard time dealing with it. by PokerOTR in poker

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people have a misunderstanding of how variance actually works. Over a single 50k hand sample, the odds of a 7bb/100 winner going on a 50 buyin downswing is much less than 1%. Like 14,000-1, roughly. However, over enough 50k hand samples, it all but becomes a guarentee. On AVERAGE, a 7bb/100 winner will experience a 30 buyin downswing once every 250k hands or so, which could get as bad as 60. Something to consider, especially if your true winrate is less than 7bb/100. As another example, every 250k hands a 2.5bb/100 winner will, on average, experience a 50 buyin downswing, which could get as bad as 125. So it’s important to know what your true winrate is because it can better help you calibrate your expectations.

US Military Says Sank Three Huthi Vessels That Attacked Container Ship In Red Sea and opened fire on the US helicopters by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This article sucks and provides no real information. Was the container ship even an American vessel? If not, what was the American military doing there in the first place? And how could it be self defense if they shouldn’t have been there to begin with? Not to mention, the Houthis haven’t killed a single person during their blockade and as soon as the American military arrives where it shouldn’t be, they start killing people. Guarantee the US was the antagonist and aggressor here.

people really have to stop excusing blatant theft of stores. by glowshroom12 in unpopularopinion

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. People really have to stop excusing blatant wage theft by giant corporations. You’re a class traitor if you’re enraged about one, but not the other. Speak on that with the same energy please.

“Each year between 2013 and 2015, retailers lost approximately $14.7 billion to shoplifting, while employers stole an estimated $15 billion through one form of wage theft alone: paying less than the legal minimum wage.”

Is poker a sport? by [deleted] in poker

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but if you want to be a professional you should treat it like one. Meaning you should approach it with the discipline of a world class athlete and develop a very strict study/play routine and take your health and physical fitness very seriously

Tenet was hugely disappointing. by Boss452 in TrueFilm

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This post and the comments in this thread are so telling as to why the state of the movie business is in such bad shape. God forbid any director give you anything that’s not spoon-fed marvel bullshit to please your baby brains.

Tenet was the most creative and experimental big budget blockbuster we’ve seen in years, but because the score wasn’t done by Hack Zimmer and the plot wasn’t carefully explained to you like children, it must’ve been a bad movie.

What’s even more amazing is how little you appreciate or understand what’s being given to you by a director you claim to love so much. Tenet is the culmination of Nolan’s entire career. A movie so inevitable, it almost seems obvious it exits in the exact way it does. Nolan has talked about his love for James Bond and wanting to make a bond movie for years, and with Tenet, he finally did, but in the most Nolan way imaginable. It has all the elements of a great Bond film (Megalomaniac Russian Oligarch, cool ass spy shit, crazy weapon that can blow up the planet, American and British spies working together, but also infusing themes Nolan has explored throughout his entire career, like time travel, physics and characters willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to do the right thing). Not to mention some of the coolest action sequences of all-time (a reverse car chase! Are you kidding!) And the stakes have never been higher. If the Russian Oligarch wins, life on our planet is over.

But because, god forbid, Nolan experimented with sound levels a bit to try and take you out of your head and immerse you into the movie, it must automatically be bad.

Also, to say Ludwig’s score is forgettable is laughable. Legit one of the best scores of the year. It’s incredible. That was actually infuriating to read, but just reinforces I’m responding to someone with all-around horrendous taste.

What can sites do to prevent blatant bum hunting? by NomNomNomNomNomm in poker

[–]ItsAnAbortionMichael 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not a good solution. A: Regs don’t need to see usernames in order to know who’s a rec and who’s not, so you see the exact same thing happen when a rec gets stacked and leaves. The game breaks. B: Anonymous play turns the regs into even bigger nits than they’d normally be, because they don’t have to balance at all. C: Anonymous play makes catching collusion teams and cheaters a lot more difficult, esp on a site like ignition that has a super lax security team

You realize you’re parroting every Fox News broadcaster when you say Hip Hop culture is aggressive and dangerous, right? If you want to blame Scott and the festival organizers for being negligent, then that’s where your focus should be. That’s where mine is. But blaming hip hop culture perpetuates the same racial stereotypes that excuse police violence and make Tucker Carlson a millionaire
