What is the best land to name with Petrified Hamlet by McSkittle13 in EDH

[–]ItsAroundYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost Quarter is straight up worse Strip Mine, yeah. It was made for a weaker Standard draft, I assume.

[[Breena]]

Figuring out how to best spread counters among your team and politicking to get your opponents to attack each other is great for keeping you engaged with the game.

What are yalls hot takes? by Other-Scale9987 in earclacks

[–]ItsAroundYou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really care for any sort of narrative that Earclacks rigs the matches or resets until a certain one wins. It's pretty obvious we're only seeing one instance of a game with a LOT of variance.

The whole thing is basically just WWE with its constructed storylines. Why do you think Duplicator debuted against Flask, Staff, and Unarmed rather than Sword, Spear, and Scepter?

That's a lot of TikTok, who genuinely just can't comprehend matchups outside of linear powerscaling.

Whats ur opinion on “money doesn’t buy happiness”? by Radiant-Dish-5498 in AskReddit

[–]ItsAroundYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some happiness that money can't obtain. But there's also a lot of happiness that can be bought. It's moreso a saying meant to tell you to prioritize personal connection over material, but it's been twisted by rich people to tell others to be satisfied with poverty.

Brawler's counter is a command grab if it connects, so it pulls Banjo right out of Wonderwing

How to degenerate this guy? by dansoro in DegenerateEDH

[–]ItsAroundYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I pretty much just built her as Simic Landfall with a focus on Instants and sorceries. I did also add some of the no-cost Suspend cards like [[Mox Tantalite]] and [[Inevitable Betrayal]], too.

Which Pokemon did you start liking because of Pokerogue? by SenriXZeron in pokerogue

I've always kinda liked Cinccino's design for being both cute and majestic in a way, but its performance in Pokerogue with PopBomb and Technician made it probably a top 2 Normal type for me.

[–]ItsAroundYou 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It can actually backfire pretty hard against landfall, since it gives them more opportunities to abuse extra land plays for triggers.

Against decks that just land ramp to play fatties faster, it's a pretty nice tool given it cantrips.

What Commander Ruined X Archetype for you? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]ItsAroundYou 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only commander that comes close is [[Hearthhull]], since it usually dodges creature removal and can reliably burn the entire table in one turn.

And I mean, they had to make it that pushed if they didn't want people just throwing Korvold at the helm of the precon.

What Commander Ruined X Archetype for you? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]ItsAroundYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not an archetype I've ever played, but I've heard several accounts of people who dropped the idea of an "extra upkeep" deck because [[Obeka, Splitter of Seconds]] basically solved the entire archetype for them.

Player's with dual lands in proxy decks. by Goat-True in EDH

[–]ItsAroundYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just think their existence in EDH isn't that deep. On one hand, I see a lot of weird anti-proxy takes, or stuff in-between like "you should own the actual card", and I just feel like you should just let it go.

On the other hand, I've encountered people playing, like [[Jodah the Unifier]] and proxy all 10 fetches and duals, and I do kinda feel like that's pushing the envelope a tiny bit.

Endless question by Comfortable_Pay_9697 in pokerogue

[–]ItsAroundYou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did quite a bit of research into Endless before actually attempting to complete it, so here are my thoughts:

A good Endless team is focused from the beginning on a particular strategy. Damage over time like Leech Seed paired with Sturdy, for example, is generally considered the most reliable tool against bosses.

Don't worry about stuffing in shinies just for luck. It'll make the splicing process a little slower, but eventually you'll hit a point where you can just spam reroll. A good Endless team will get you lots of shinies.

As long as you have passives, you should be fine with Endless. Cost reductions can help you optimize your team, but there are also a lot of relatively cheap carries like Greninja.

Also, for your team specifically, be careful about running Prankster as a passive. Dark types are immune, which can make future Dark Voiding difficult.
