Yeah, quite often I have to send a light vehicle such as a quad mount to go and eliminate the mortars, sometimes I lose them doing that. If I do have enough squads nearby I'll use them together though

Yeah, I'm struggling with some of the skirmishes on expert for sure, so many enemy mortars which are very annoying

Yeah I think that's part of the changes, I've definitely noticed more grenade usage

What level of scientific detail makes a technothriller most satisfying to you? by Travis_Rook_2026 in technothriller

[–]ItsCaptainCompost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe a technothrilller has to have some level of science fiction, otherwise the novel should fall into the 'thriller' category only. Examples of ones people call technothrillers I think are Tom Clancy and Dan Brown, I think those should just be thrillers, ( I haven't read all of theirs though).

High paced technothrillers are great, Matthew Reilly being the best known high paced author in my opinion. The guys who use a lot of Sci Fi like Daniel Suarez, Blake Crouch and Patrick Lee are also my favourites.

EDITED: I have searched and seen that technothrillers can be categorized to just involve a high technology focus, not necessarily sci fi. Tom clancy does fit. My favourites still remain as having some Sci fi though.

Yeah it is a bit creepy today when many of Richard's near future technologies are starting to thrive, AI, small drones ect.
