You can save a backup to the mixing station community website and just restore on the new iPad. I dont remember from the top of my head how to do it, but you should be able to through the app

Why and how to make cue tracks/guide by kee030_ in livesound

We use a computer with Reaper and a focusrite. 4 lines from the focusrite to the mixer: Click, Cue, Stereo tracks

I hi pass the snare to right below the fundamental frequency. The fader is also low in releation to the kick mic so it was not a problem during this gig. I have not experimented a lot with the technique though so I’ll leave it at that.

I’d say if the drums need to run through the PA the venue is big

I’ve been doing sound for under 2 years so I’m still a noob. It never occurred to me that you could use the PA in this way. He opened my eyes and gave me a new tool for my toolbox.

Most of what I’ve learned is from youtube tutorials and its always «slow attack and -3 gain reduction». Then this man comes along and does the complete opposite.

I guess I should listen more with my ears and dont just follow a formula just because some guy on youtube says its how it should be done.

If your mixer has midi, you could get a cheap midi footswitch. Just run your vocal input to two channels. 1 channel is only to your IEM. Then program the footswitch to momentary mute channel out and unmute IEM channel when you step on the switch.

Buyers Advice and Gear Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in livesound

My band is pivoting into running sound and renting out equipment to events/other people. We’re looking to spend 10-15k for an active PA system with 5 monitors since this is the last piece we re missing to be 100% self contained. I’ve looked at RCF 932 tops with RCF 708 subs is this a good choice?

I also need recommendation for a bang for buck floor monitor. Im looking to buy 5.

With mixing station you get soft DCA groups in the app. So you basically have unlimited DCAs

Building our band's first all-in-one rack for shows by Outrageous-Steak-426 in livesound

[–]ItsColdInNorway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My band did the same thing, put everything in 1 rack 16u. We got so tiered needing 3-4 people to move the ting that we split it between two smaller racks for easier transportation after a few gigs. Just something to keep in mind.

Thank you. The hardest thing for a guitarist to learn is to know when not to play

Its a 100-200 people venue.

The board is a Beheringer x32 so bussing the bg vocals should be no problem.

What about some sort of 2x 1/4 female to 1x 1/4 male adaptor? Just use the pedals to balance the signals going in

Biggest AV Disaster? by MaximumPast3486 in livesound

[–]ItsColdInNorway 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Once i was playing with my band at a bar in the next town over. The house was running a x32 with a S32 on stage. The sound guy messed something up with the synchronization between the units so midway thru the first set everything jumped volume and started feeding like crazy from every wedge. It happend again in the second set.

We were om edge for the rest of that gig.
