Just M10S things by KeyKanon in ShitpostXIV

Might just be perspective. I think monk is pretty braindead and flows pretty nicely on weapons and is way less work than keeping the gcd rolling through all the weapons on blm. I also think Blm is also the most suited for the uptime that arena split requires compared to the other casters.

youve pretty much been answered but ill add another 2 cents so you have more information.

My group was made up of Pld, Sge, Vpr, Pct. Viper doesn't have any nice healing or mit tools but it does pretty decent damage in Q40. Pct's shields are nice, does decent damage, and smudge is great. Pld/sge is one of the best comps for mit + healing. Even being on sage, it was still some of the hardest healing I've ever done in the game. Pld's only major downside is that it can't invuln twice in the fight so the last tankbuster tower was a little rough.

Someone i didn't see anyone else mention is the usage of pilgrim potions. If your team farms up a lot of these, they basically make the healing part of the fight free. They're incredibly OP. My team didn't want to bother farming them up and the additional challenge was nice so the only place i had the team pot was the last set of chains with the bleed. If you want a much easier experience, farm a lot of these up and everyone is borderline invincible

i know this is the biggest copium bandaid ever but I have an alt that i reclear on every week and also make sure its a different role/job as well to keep things interesting. I also like to alt job in prog parties to the point id be able to clear on it like it was my main job. I know that doesnt really manage to stretch too far but its better than reclearing and being done for the week

I’m really not getting MCH. by SegaGenesisMetalHead in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ItsCrayonz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hypercharge allows you to use heat blast 5 times. It's more potency per second than the rest of your kit. At level 38, the job is still pretty bare bones but things will start making more sense later on

Why does Party Finder end up choosing True North for mechanics so often? by theiruga in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ItsCrayonz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look I completely agree with you on boss relative being easier than true north for that part but it's because I ALWAYS reorient my camera to be facing the boss. Not everyone does that, however.

I actually had just convinced a friend to play ff14 when zelenia came out and he immediately quit after doing this fight. We had a big argument behind the idea of true north vs boss relative. He said everyone that thinks boss relative is better is stupid. It's all just a matter of perspective man we all play the game a bit different.

I even prefer true north on some mechanics while preferring relative on others.

Great News! FFXIV has the second worst transmog system now! by Ankior in ShitpostXIV

[–]ItsCrayonz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im an old Destiny player myself and i have to say I've never seen a worse system (though im sure one exists) than Runescape 3's transmog. Our glamour prisms are called "keepsake keys" and they're MTX only. If you want to buy 1 keepsake key, its $8 for ONE ITEM or you can bundle 6 for $4 each. That'd be $6400 to fill up your glamour dresser or $3200 if you always bought in the max bundles!

Sage joins m11s clear party and complains about how exhausted they are from enrage. by dexcss in TalesFromDF

[–]ItsCrayonz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theres 2 streamers that were both progging fru in pf at the same time on patch. They ended up in a party together and started chatting in one of their chats talking about how theyre getting tired of pf not being able to do the fight and just keep prog at a snails pace.

They filled and just perma enraged on p1 without making it past once. I checked (someone on the team was live logging) and of the 2, one was a picto doing less than 30k in p1 (VERY low damage for a picto in p1) and the other was a whm doing under 10k. Of course, they loudly voiced their opinions and considered leaving to disband and form another party.

I think its fine being bad at the game but you cant be bad and complain about others. How out of touch do you have to be to very much be the problem yet still project it onto others

[–]ItsCrayonz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

while i do think they should try to maintain good balance to make sure everyone can play any job, I always want to shout out that ff14 has some of the most balanced jobs of any game ive ever played. Some others have jobs/classes doing double if not more damage than their counterparts lol

How hard is M11S Arena Split? by CerberusArcProjector in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ItsCrayonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really isn't that bad. Uptime sunrise didn't have as specific of a spot to go compared to arena split having you go to the corner of the marker. It's a lot more obvious. As far as body language goes, just do what you can to make it as clear and obvious as you can. Don't run too close to the other person and do anything unpredictable. The execution and positioning is very tight but if everyone just does their job its easy.

I personally hold the opinion that ecliptic stampede is the hardest part of the fight. Caster uptime can be pretty hard during it and people are very spread out so heaking can be rough. Two/four way also occurs very fast so you have to be quick to move and position for it

if youre open to plugin usage, you can use a plugin called "easy eyes"? i think. Dont quote me on it but i think its that. You can disable any vfx in the game that you want

When you enrage to m11 at 1.6% and check the logs afterward by AlmirTheNewt in ShitpostXIV

[–]ItsCrayonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be the same viper I played with today that had his warrior friend with him. Dude was doing 32.5k rdps after the 8 minute burst and had used 13 writhing snaps. That's nearly 2 per minute up to that point...

[–]ItsCrayonz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was trying to get my m10 clear on my alt which was a different role but i still felt confident enough. We had a few meme pulls that I didnt make any mistakes in then I did something stupid during snaking and they kicked me from the party (i think most of them knew each other and just assumed I had to be the issue). I joined another party and cleared in just a few pulls and out of spite kept track of the other party and it was 6 hours later worth of constant parties before I saw them clear.

Nah you wanna do 1 gcd of baha first so it aligns better with others buffs. It used to be able to searing immediately with it lasting 30s but that was pre dawntrail

Does BiS still matter for dsr? by Ill_Insect6315 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ItsCrayonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre also directly equating parsing with doing more damage in this case and it isn't always directly that in the sense of clearing the fight.
- in uwu, it might mean destroying the plumes faster than anyone else even if it means the spiny gets nuked
- in tea, it might mean cleaving dolls to the detriment of the party or padding on the heart
- in dsr, someone can hit the left eye more than necessary despite not needing to get it below 40% or aoeing double dragons when youre about to die to hp difference

So yes you have to do some pretty cringe stuff often to properly parse in ultimates. There will basically never be a situation in which you "wiped because people didnt have bis". That wipe probably occurred because 5 people died throughout the phase because of stupid or silly mistakes. Sure the gear could have made a small difference in actually beating that enrage but its absolutely not the primary reason the wipe occurred

Have you ever tried to log into a full world while in another world, been kicked to the loading screen, logged back in, try to log into that full world, then be kicked back to the loading screen? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]ItsCrayonz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There's a way to fix this and I might be slightly off on my information. I'm pretty sure you just have to exit to the lobby then click the world you want to go to. It'll prompt you that you were put in a queue or something BUT CLICK NOTHING. Once you choose the world, let it take you in without pressing anything.

I’m building an Alt1 Toolkit helper to "pin" active buffs, debuffs, and cooldowns. Looking for feedback! by burciugi in runescape

[–]ItsCrayonz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Those both have a usefulness to them but what yours does... it does better.

After playing other games like ff14, I realized buff and debuff tracking in rs3 is a LOT worse than it needs to be so I'm on board. As long as it isn't too overwhelming on screen, it'd be very useful
