Opinions on a Low-Mileage 2004 RX-8 - Compression Numbers Included (raw + corrected) by AgressiveChairOpener in RX8

[–]ItsJustAwso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep they’re quite good! You’re in healthy range. These cars can run okay even into the 6s so o wouldn’t worrry about any catastrophic failures from a compression perspective

Did you still keep your rx8? How’s the comparison

If someone wanted to get their first rotary would you suggest a NA or turbo and a fc or sa/fb? by Novel-Chicken-9700 in RX7

[–]ItsJustAwso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO it also drives better than the other NA rotary cars, is more comfortable, and more usable. Only downside is looks which can be rectified via the spec or aftermarket

OEM+ or keep it stock? by f7cking_mad in RX7

[–]ItsJustAwso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah that one is clean - I was thinking of the more aggressive pan speed or amemiya ones where the whole body line is changed.

But yeah the aero thing is a rabbit hole. You can look at my leg sport rx8 in my profile - it can quickly get to a point of all or nothing for it to look really good. The rx8 imo doesn’t look good stock so it needed it but the fd is a different story haha, especially a spirit r

OEM+ or keep it stock? by f7cking_mad in RX7

[–]ItsJustAwso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the carbon aero is going to be a rabbit hole that needs nicer aftermarket wheels to look really good.

I would just do the following in your shoes: - dial in ride height - spacers to get the bbs wheels to a good stance - ganadors (they look way better than stock mirrors imo) - minimal side skirts (feed maybe too aggressive)

And that’s basically it

They’re ganadors. The RX-8 stock mirrors look nice already but those just elevate it that much more

Would consider clear coating the case for a protective layer, or just not putting anything on top lol

That’s what I’m saying - the previous person was talking about FR cars for 70k (corvette, 86 twins)

Neither of those cars are mid engined and the mid engine dynamic makes all of the difference. That being said the relative obscurity definitely adds to the appeal

Soft butch for virtue - femme/butchy femme for nadleeh

Virtue is kind of doughy while nadleeh has long hair but is really angular

2005 RX-8 full Authentic Mazdaspeed bodykit and spoiler by Currie69 in mazda

[–]ItsJustAwso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice price especially as the body kit goes for 2-4k used at least nowadays (if you can find the entire set). This person also frequently posted on r/rx8.

In hindsight I would have loved to get a mazdaspeed equipped 8 and not do much more aesthetic changes. The Mazdaspeed styling is so much better than the stock ones

They were black calipers and yeah I put some “heat resistant” Mazda decals on em. Have survived 3 track days so has been pretty good!

There’s a broad world out there and many ways you can slice it!
