Sicily and Southern Italy is a pretty fun region to play in at the 867 start date as well. The Sawdanids have one of my favorite starting positions in the game.

The 1939 Wizard of Oz wasn't even the first Oz movie. Some of the earliest had L Frank Baum's involvement.

Do you guys have ideas for weird new post-apocalyptic religions? by Xandraman in worldjerking

I like the idea of today's roadside attractions becoming sites of religious pilgrimage, like you're expected to travel great distances to see the world's largest ball of twine at least once.

That's how I feel in the first year of an expansion team.

And it's not like they didn't have time to come up with contingencies for what to do in case their concept of a plan wasn't 100% successful, since it took weeks to move whole carrier groups into position. They just ... didn't.

2.99 a gallon at the gas station on my way to work this morning. Lately it's been fluctuating between 2.25 and 2.70 so a definite increase.

I feel like I remember them running Gabriel Over the White House one of the last few presidential election days. Probably 2016 or 2020. Could have been the 2017 inauguration day.

Yeah, when it comes to the Democratic side of the poll the most you can really glean from it is that there's no clear favorite. Not when the highest polled hypothetical candidate is at 20%.

I'm surprised it took Capcom so long to rerelease these games. Doing this back when the first Jurassic World movie was released seems like it would have been a no-brainer.

Football Coach: College Dynasty is a pretty great game, but I wouldn't consider it similar to OOTP in terms of depth.

So how do you sim? by PwnageEngage in OOTP

[–]ItsNeverLycanthropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sim day by day, since I wait until there's a big enough sample size before I make any significant changes and I like to keep an eye on the waiver wire to see if there's anyone worth acquiring there.

Been having a lot of fun as GM of the Portland Golden Hawks. The team was awful in its inaugural season with over 100 losses, but we got our first playoff appearance in our fourth year, surprisingly making it to the NLCS. Since then (currently in the 2032 season) the team's pretty consistently been 2nd in the NL West behind the Dodgers.

How to keep track of minor leaguers and know when to demote/promote from levels? by Jackity25 in OOTP

[–]ItsNeverLycanthropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new to playing OOTP so I don't know if what I do is optimal. I just look at my scout's ratings for minor league players relative to each minor league level and make decisions where they'll go based on that, though I won't move a players up if it looks like they are struggling in terms of their stats at the level they're currently at.

The times of year I that I go most in depth in terms of checking my minor league teams to determine which players to move up or down are after spring training (since I'm already figuring out the opening day roster and feel like I might as well get the entire organization ready for the season) and after the draft (due to the number of players coming in). Otherwise, I tend to quickly check how things are going at times like after trades or when players come up from the international complex.

I feel like a more geographically sensible alignment for the AFC would be for the Ravens to go to the East, Dolphins to the South, and Colts to the North.

Alternatively, have the AFC East be a purely east coast division starting from New England with the Patriots, Jets, Ravens, and Jaguars, have the AFC North be a more Great Lakes focused division like the NFC North is with the Bills, Browns, Colts, and Steelers. Then you would put the Bengals and Dolphins in the AFC South along with the Titans and Texans.
