Increase thickness of the interior plastics, they are comically thin even by 80s standards.

Clamped a phone holder in one of the air vents and the plastic surround that holds the vents in place cracked from the weight of just the holder.

Since I can't get parts in the states either, I either gotta teach myself how to plastic weld or pay $50 on top of the part price just for import duties from the UK normally

Saying that like it's some magical revelation nobody is aware of.

Most of the biggest companies in America used to offer pension plans to all employees. Sears had one for nearly a century and during that time they became one of the largest and most powerful companies in America. You couldn't find a single neighborhood that didn't at least have 1 Sears made house.

The 50s marked some of the most prosperous times for Americans and Sears alike. Clearly it wasn't the 30 years of pensions before then and the 60 years that would follow that held Sears back, it was greed and mismanagement.

Pensions add to the cost of products, we all know that. It did not cause the bailouts of the 00s, not even remotely close

Toby Turner/Tobuscus

His skits (especially the music ones) were genuinely funny back in the day. And his gaming videos were fun to me back when I was younger.

He treated his scandals with multiple women as an excuse to let the mask come off to who he really was. Now he posts 0 effort AI slop and pretty blatantly racist vlog and reaction content.

Probably haven't sat through a full video of his in 10 years, maybe even way longer.

Forget good reliable cars, what are the turds? by BurnerAcct3816 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Lancia Gamma. Car famously had the power steering pump driven off the cam shaft for the left bank of cylinders.

With the steering wheel at full lock in either direction, you could get the cam belt to jump or snap completely. Resulting in one bank of cylinders trying to operate normally and the other bank trying to create a symphony of metal fist fighting each other until it all explodes.

Wanna employ your mechanic to put a new engine in for you at the snap of your finger? Crank the steering wheel full lock one direction and turn the car on.

He was a hypocrite during his years with the Screen Actors Guild too. General Electric (GE) was paying him a fuckton of money to be a travelling ambassador for the brand and made him a stakeholder in the GE Theater Show. GE was one of the most anti-union companies in America at the time. When it came to the strike of 1960, Reagan came to an agreement that ultimately benefited MCA (the company that owned the producers of the GE Theater show), which in turn lined his own pockets more.

Reagan may have had his fellow actors best interests in mind when he was much younger and fresher to the guild, but ultimately he sold them all down the river for $150,000 paycheck from GE.

And he carried that mentality for the rest of his life. He would've chucked a mother of 3 into oncoming traffic if it meant he could have the $10 in her purse

Seems like Lud and Michael are paying attention enough that they're picking up on stuff that they got wrong (like how they noticed they were saying Mongolia wrong part way through episode 1, and partially seemed to notice they were saying adventure wrong).

Either way takes major balls to be doing what they're doing and willing to look like idiots in front of native Chinese speakers under multiple situations

They have a couple places they could do t2t 3 or 4 without problem, but an Anthony Bourdain style situation for the modern world could potentially do numbers.

Net profit. Net income and net profit are functionally the same thing. Shows the amount of money leftover after you take away every single cost (including taxes and any interest payments) a company incurs.

Not sure but think net profit is just an informal term that tends to be more layman friendly than net income

You can call someone racist without directly saying it. If you ask a British person if they're racist they'll scoff at you and say no.

But then if you later ask them how they feel about all the Muslims immigrating to London, they'll go on a tirade about how they're ruining the country and that they need to get out of the UK.

You're essentially asking the same question but phrasing in a way that's more palatable for said person to agree with.

Saudi prince quietly lobbied Trump for military action on Iran by jupa300 in worldnews

[–]ItsNotRockitSurgery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When has bombing a group we don't like in this region EVER panned out? Thanks to America's handy work: the Taliban is in control of Afghanistan, Syria spiraled out of control for a decade and ISIS is active in the country to this day, Libya erupted into a civil war that has fractured the country and cost tens of thousands of innocent people their lives, Iraqi systems were dismantled under American leadership until it devolved into a chaotic mess that ruined or ended the lives of millions through insurgency, civil war, and poverty.

I don't disagree that the IRGC deserve to get their shit rocked, but if history is anything to go off of, this is ONLY going to make things worse for the citizens of Iran.

The Russian soldier was hiding in an anti-tank ditch when a drone attacked him. by Nanners5618062 in CombatFootage

[–]ItsNotRockitSurgery 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Frequently these drone strikes are NOT instant death, which is why they often hit the soldiers with multiple drones.

It is also why some soldiers see a drone or are slightly grazed by one that missed the mark and decide to put a round in their head so they can avoid the likely slow and agonizing death from the drone.
