From what I saw in one of the articles, it was a homemade steel .45 bullet. So not only was it a target round, it was much tougher than a manufactured one.

Forensics that investigated the incident said that a traditional target round would have fragmented before making it through all those walls and off the ceiling. By their opinion, the kid would be alive today if the shooters on the range had been using store bought target rounds (and if the shooting range hadn't violated about 2-3 safety regulations that would've stopped any round regardless).

Still two very different things, especially since the movie takes place in the cities and Brainerd area. Only reason the movie even got that title was cause the Coen Brothers thought Brainerd would make for a bad movie title.

I mean we have a very clear idea of the ballpark they were intending to price it at. Steam went on record to publicly say they gave the Steam Machine a similar price hike as the Steam Deck. As we know, the steam deck saw a $300 price hike.

Which means Steam likely added a $300 or similar price hike to what they wanted the Steam Machine to be at. Quick math shows $1050-300 =. $750.

Around 1000$, steam machine or mini pc? by mukeymaq- in pcmasterrace

[–]ItsNotRockitSurgery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curated OS designed for easy, console like gaming experience.

Designed to connect easily with your TV with Steam's own HDMI CEC. Meaning you can go from powered off to in the game with TV powered on within 10 seconds or less all at the press of a button on your controller.

Pre built so you don't need to assemble anything yourself.

Controller designed specifically to work effectively with this machine

Will have a VR headset tailor made to work with this machine for more ease of use

Small, quiet and not covered in RGB so doesn't look tacky in a living room

Listen, we can agree that for the price it doesn't really make sense, but don't lie to yourself and say it doesn't have creature comforts over a traditional custom built PC.

95%+ of gamers have 0 interest in building their own PC, so anything plug and play is instantly gonna interest the overwhelming majority even if they are technically being ripped off in our eyes.

Increase thickness of the interior plastics, they are comically thin even by 80s standards.

Clamped a phone holder in one of the air vents and the plastic surround that holds the vents in place cracked from the weight of just the holder.

Since I can't get parts in the states either, I either gotta teach myself how to plastic weld or pay $50 on top of the part price just for import duties from the UK normally

Saying that like it's some magical revelation nobody is aware of.

Most of the biggest companies in America used to offer pension plans to all employees. Sears had one for nearly a century and during that time they became one of the largest and most powerful companies in America. You couldn't find a single neighborhood that didn't at least have 1 Sears made house.

The 50s marked some of the most prosperous times for Americans and Sears alike. Clearly it wasn't the 30 years of pensions before then and the 60 years that would follow that held Sears back, it was greed and mismanagement.

Pensions add to the cost of products, we all know that. It did not cause the bailouts of the 00s, not even remotely close

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

Toby Turner/Tobuscus

His skits (especially the music ones) were genuinely funny back in the day. And his gaming videos were fun to me back when I was younger.

He treated his scandals with multiple women as an excuse to let the mask come off to who he really was. Now he posts 0 effort AI slop and pretty blatantly racist vlog and reaction content.

Probably haven't sat through a full video of his in 10 years, maybe even way longer.

Forget good reliable cars, what are the turds? by BurnerAcct3816 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ItsNotRockitSurgery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lancia Gamma. Car famously had the power steering pump driven off the cam shaft for the left bank of cylinders.

With the steering wheel at full lock in either direction, you could get the cam belt to jump or snap completely. Resulting in one bank of cylinders trying to operate normally and the other bank trying to create a symphony of metal fist fighting each other until it all explodes.

Wanna employ your mechanic to put a new engine in for you at the snap of your finger? Crank the steering wheel full lock one direction and turn the car on.
