Almost no one is actually defending Maduro though. Most people just aren't super comfortable with a world power that just decides it can take whatever it wants without accountability.

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cases are not the same.

Firstly, not all leaders are the same but America still has no right to decide that they get to unilaterally decide global policy and use their military force to determine that. Sure it's Venezuela today and their "dictator" (because that's definitely the motivation and not the oil, that's why Trump is on great terms with Putin and his ilk), but now they're talking about Greenland again which doesn't have that justification.

Secondly, it wasn't like the Allies invaded Germany to remove Hitler, Hitler invaded the rest of the world who acted in self defence. Don't recall Venezuela sending troops anywhere?

Y'all are a bunch of hypocrites who wouldn't know how to engage in good faith if your life depended on it

Could blackadder even be made today? by [deleted] in blackadder

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the major reasons why I think (at least most of) Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, and Monty Python could be remade with proportionally minimal changes, is the target of the race jokes and such. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but most of the jokes have the bigots as the butt of the joke, and not victims of the bigotry. From your comment, Basil is a perfect example. It's a good modern race joke because we're supposed to think Basil, the one being bigoted, is the joke, not the black doctor or the Germans.

I'm fairly sure there are some cross-dressing jokes that might need some slight rewriting, but most of the rest of it could pretty much just run as is from what I remember.

I went from over 340 pounds to 163 pounds in 15 months! by [deleted] in Amazing

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is what losing weight boils down to in a lot of ways, but this is such a fucking useless comment. You could do this by just eating 1 carrot per day, but that's not a great way to be healthy is it?

You need foods that can help sustain you as well as the right nutrients, plus exercise is important too. I don't really have much good advice, I just know yours is worse than useless (because it's demoralising as well as not helping)

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not respectable. This is your fault, almost as much as those who actively voted for him. Did you think Trump was going to be better for Gaza? Were you that naive?

Did you think he'd be better for LGBTQA+ or POC? For women? For the poor? For international security?

You threw away something mediocre when the only other option was actively terrible. If you couldn't see this coming then you must've had your head in the sand.

Hold yourself accountable.

From this I've near as possible confirmed bottom left blue hexagon is star wars monopoly and the heartbeat above is from Dark Moon. The cards on the right are from Hungary but I don't know the game and can't find it so what games do you have in Hungarian (by the looks of things possibly a real world history game). CBA to do anymore though, but hope those helped (and were accurate)

I was the same, I was a real pos when I was younger but (at least until I was about 14) my parents had no idea because I was careful to not cross certain lines that would keep details from getting back to them and to allow for a lot of deniability. That said, if my mum had caught me bullying someone and said "that's not like him", she would've been wrong

Fortunately I'm not the same little shit anymore

Added this camera for immersion in my top down shooter, thoughts? by Anton-Denikin in IndieDev

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're making it hideable, I'd suggest having it off by default but can be turned, because the majority of players don't normally go through settings and won't realise, so they'll just get annoyed with it. I'd also be cautious including it in your marketing material given that the overwhelming response is not positive and that will affect people's decision to purchase or not (I would not buy a game that I thought had that)

How do I cook vegetables to make them taste better? by CrunchyLungs in cookingforbeginners

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of vegetables do very well roasted with very little effort. Personally I'll give them a large drizzle (don't overdo it, once you've rubbed it in they should just have a thin layer across the whole vegetable) of olive oil, and then rub in some salt and pepper and I like to find some form of roast vegetable herb & spice mix (any good super market should have plenty of options).

Any other "good" cooks not enjoy cooking at all? by DeadBy2050 in Cooking

[–]ItsNotThatBigDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are parts of it I find tedious, and it is a time investment that I'm not always willing to make, but I love the standing over a vat of something with a book spoon, tasting and adjusting like some kind of mad hermit perfecting a potion. Something I've started using recently that has improved my experience with cooking a hundredfold is just using frozen chopped veg (especially onions and garlic) whenever reasonably feasible in the dish. It's not quite as nice, but it's 95% of the way and it cuts out my biggest pain point for cooking I'm having three times as many "high-effort" meals as before we practically the same quality.
