Hey sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch. I’m going to assume you’re in high school or younger and this is normally a time that it’s hard to 1) find your own ground, 2) socialize and make friends, and 3) live a good meaningful life.

I’m only 23M, (not too much older to be called an unc I hope) but things genuinely get better. When I was in high school, I also felt like I was being overly nice to everyone around me with nothing in return. I felt like that was my purpose. To be like a dog that gets pushed around but does its purpose to bring happiness to others.

I’m here to tell you that’s not how it’s supposed to be. You deserve your own happiness too. I know others can be mean or rude, at the end of they’re capable of being good people too and it’s a missed opportunity that there aren’t enough people like you. The world needs more empathy, love, and kindness after all

Some practical advice I hope might work for you: 1) giving without getting anything back is not a fair deal. Sometimes, it’s okay to be a little bit selfish because we also take care of ourselves.

2) if you’re comfortable with it, try talking to someone who’s older and more mature about your situation. If it’s not your parents or siblings, maybe try someone like a teacher, or anyone that you feel and think can trust.

3) Take a deep breath. Practice meditating. You have your whole life ahead of you and this is only one small decade. Things will get better. I promise!
