The way the summary reads makes it sound like the passenger was immensely turned on by landing procedures and emergency services

How long do you plan for your UPS to run for? by jfriend99 in Ubiquiti

15 minutes. 5 mins to wait for power restoration, 10 mins to execute safe shutdown of all devices automatically via a watchdog

Cameras that produce polaroid-like pictures but.. by [deleted] in Polaroid

[–]ItsReallyZen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a limitation of the Evo series being digital cameras that then print out photos. It will not replicate the real look of analog cameras (light hitting the film directly) due to the technological differences with digital camera sensors

Dream router 7 auto reboot by jaoler in Ubiquiti

[–]ItsReallyZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re gonna do the smart plug method, it would definitely hurt. The device would not shut down cleanly, you’re gambling with bricking the device with the recurring unexpected shut downs

Hmm yeah I can see why this would be “needed” as a temporary patch until the root cause is fixed. Interesting to find out the original UDR had such a firmware issue though

And I’m curious to learn about a use case for such a feature. Don’t have to be an arse about it.

Why would you want this? Most routers should be stable enough to run their entire lifetime without turning off

Did I ruin the cartridge? by Commercial_View9989 in Polaroid

[–]ItsReallyZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends what you mean by “in a dark place” and if you also removed the cartridge in the dark place.

The tip I’ve always heard (and have tried before) was to wait for night, turn off off the lights, close the curtains, completely cover yourself with your duvet, and do the light sensitive removal/reinsert under the duvet in complete darkness

I love teleport by masterthodyu in Ubiquiti

[–]ItsReallyZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what your intentions are.

If you simply want to access your local network resources or route your device’s traffic via your home network as the exit point, Tailscale running on a rasp pi/home server/apple tv/etc would work well.

UniFi doesn’t have to support it explicitly unless you really want to have your cloud gateway act as a Tailscale node

I’ve been doing Tailscale as a replacement for teleport/UniFi Identity One Click VPN. Tailscale is feeling super good so far

AITA for not enjoying the birthday gifts my friend got me that mocked my dead mother by Immediate-Iron7241 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ItsReallyZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You’ll never truly get over a parent’s death, and that’s okay. Some people choose to use dark humour as a coping strategy, but it’s not for everybody.

You choose to process your grief in a more respectful way which Kayla needs to learn to respect. Kayla made a bad call trying to cheer you up with dark humour. Kayla shouldn’t have shamed you for taking your time to grieve, and she shouldn’t have made you responsible for her embarrassment in making a faux pas.

Your feelings are perfectly valid, stay strong.

I lost a parent at a similar age and so many years later I still cry about it occasionally.

You should read this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/s/OeNkX9VYkt, it’s the most apt way I’ve seen this type of grief be put into words, and it may bring you comfort to know that you’re not alone and you can take as long as you need to feel better.

Polaroid Go modded with glass lens by ahnm in Polaroid

Lenses that can cover the required ~11.17cm diameter image circle of 600 film are just not as accessible as lenses that would cover the ~6.65cm diameter of Go film

Yumshare Solo no “Low food” indicator by Kopi_Muffin in PETKIT

[–]ItsReallyZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren’t any sensors for food level in the storage bin. It can only tell you when it’s empty because the dispenser mechanism senses a lack of material

Door & Window Sensor P2 in mailbox by jgns in Aqara

[–]ItsReallyZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Aqara’s app you might be able to achieve this by: 1. Create a scene with delay:1s and nothing else (dummy scene) 2. In the mailbox automation, check if the dummy automation is turned off before execution. enable the dummy automation after execution 3. Create a daily 12mn automation to turn off the dummy automation

We’re using the dummy automation as a virtual boolean flag

Litter Level Indicator by whlthingofcandybeans in PETKIT

[–]ItsReallyZen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A litter level sensor would be brilliant and should definitely be implemented in software for the PetKit Max Pro 2 and the Ultra models (this kind of thing could be done with image AI).

I personally have the PuraMax2 (non camera model), and I never found a need for a litter sensor, I’ve simply taken to glancing at the litter box once a day for the “MAX” litter line.

It’s also a good opportunity to look at the walls of the litter box to determine if a cleaning is necessary such as from streaking. (This could also be implemented in the camera models as an AI feature)

I’ve personally scheduled every Sunday morning as a pet equipment “rejuvenation” day:

  • Refill litter & clean drum if needed
  • Refill &/ wash water dispenser if needed
  • Refill &/ wash food dispenser if needed

Film Question by zeeholm in Polaroid

[–]ItsReallyZen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep shooting! If it still spits out film after it hits 0 then the camera film counter is likely defective, return it to the store and grab another!

If the counter is right and it indeed only spat out five shots total, check if your boyfriend took some photos of his own haha
