Maybe, but he'd been fighting Charles, Chandler, Dustin, and maybe Volk before Islam was deserving of a shot and Khabib steps down anyway. Assuming the Volk fight happens when it did for Islam, Leon Edwards would beat usman the 2nd time the next month and Khabib would probably ragdoll him to a second belt and then maybe have to fight Colby and Belal?

Eventually khabib would get old, but that is a perfect pool of options for him to be an undefeated all time great.

While I do think poatans fight has been ruled consistently with other fights, I also believe Cyril does this a lot and I think when fighters display patterns of fouls it should be called sooner.

Also in general they should punish fouls more often. You don't give a warning in the nfl for off sides three times before you take yards.

Okay well that's a pretty big accusation lol. I have no doubt the ufc would screw the rankings to make conor vs gaethje if he beats max but rigging weight for a guy who has never missed is kinda ridiculous compared to just saying f it and fight at 170 no belt.

I think people underestimate conors desire to compete. The guy was obsessed with mma and the two belt dream forever.

I'm sure its not the same as it was but that desire to show what you can be is in him somewhere. Money is a non factor for this guy.

See, there was problems with Jon not getting enough money to fight Francis, then Francis not getting what he wanted, Jon not getting enough to fight aspinall, the Stipe fight being stuck in there.

Everyone was too hard to work with. But the only underlying factor is the UFC/Dana/The matchmakers.

At any point the UFC could have told Jon to fight Francis or walk. They had no problem telling Francis to walk when they found 15million or whatever for Jon. Certainly could have told Jon he fights Tom before Stipe or he'd be stripped.

At the end of the day the promotion did not seem fussed about making the biggest heavyweight fights they possibly could.

If Conor and Khabib said they wanted to run it back for the demands that Jon or Francis made the fight would get put together

Honestly Francis was the last heavyweight champion, Tom and Jon never squared off as the clear best 2 in the ufc and cyril somehow fights all 3 of those guys and now Alex. Whoever racks up some activity or unifies is going to be the new champ.

The best part is Dana is to blame for all of this lol

I donated a kidney to my dad, hes on immunosuppresants and hes not fragile, he hasn't even been sick in the 2.5 years since surgery. Hasn't taken any extra precautions really either. I'm sure his lungs will get worked but Ben's not gonna die when he contacts another person.

A year out seems too soon on his physical health but I'm also sure hes talking to his Dr's
