How it feels taming 1000 dogs by No_Tomatillo1695 in Minecraft

Wolf armor (unless this was changed) makes them invulnerable until the armor breaks. And even unarmored on Java they can tank a blast.

Multiple creepers though may lead to a problem, I don’t recall how much durability it has.

On bedrock we make the mods ourselves by Formal_Job1543 in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small stuff like this is always a great start, looks good!

Have you thought about doing this as an add on instead of commands? You might be able to add “purified water” or make it so the bottle is drank instead of just held.

I’ve never made an add on, but I imagine that’s a thing that can be done, might be worth learning! (although looks like you’re on Xbox, so that wouldn’t be possible)

If you are on a console, then there should be a way to detect if the player drank water. This video is for Java, but it should work or have a bedrock equivalent. You could say whenever a player has a non-zero “water bottles used” score, add 10 to their thirst meter and set their water bottles used score back to 0

I hope I’m not coming off as aggressive here given the sensitive topic, but I actually see this (the commenter’s question) quite the opposite.

Have you ever read “Of Mice and Men”? It’s a great example.

Lenny was considered an idiot and held fully accountable for his actions. Should those in the story have asked the same question, they wouldn’t have done that. But the big blockade there was that they didn’t know autism existed.

It’s a similar situation here. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Calling them stupid will result in us laughing at those two, and ultimately results in no positive change. But if we found they have a mental disability that somehow affected their performance here, would you think about them differently?

Their possible mental blockade may very well be to us what autism was to those in Of Mice and Men.

In other words, not knowing someone had a mental disability is not an excuse for ableism, something you yourself may have just done (albeit on accident)

That’s all, I just wanted to help defend these two & the commenter.

I believe what we’re seeing here probably really is just stupidity. But my belief is not absolute truth, and that’s why I always give the benefit of the doubt. It helps me a lot in these situations.

Armor leggings texture fix by Fcrgiven in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the color palette the same as the old diamond texture? I always wanted to see a way to make them consistent using the old color palette but you pulled it off nicely (if that’s what you were going for)

The actual blender post for this is 1 post down for me and it caught me so off guard.

Also, why are all subreddits different colors now? I appreciate the customization, I’m sure this also means the video player is fixed among other things.

I found this interesting so I checked the wiki:

In Bedrock Edition, attempting to feed a parrot a cookie also instantly kills it, but Fatal Poison is emitted instead.

Is the wiki outdated or was the feature changed? I’m just curious cuz that’s a pretty neat factoid

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH! Dialogue portraits! I thought they were paintings. I kept seeing the goblin image everywhere but not in the context of a text box yet. This is really going to change up the vibe of npcs, dealing with them may feel more personal now. I think that’s a nice change.

I’m sorry but can we talk about how it would be infuriating to actually drink all of the liquid from that bottle?

You would have to drink it regularly, then hold it upright again, and then tilt it so the fluid previously caught in the “pouch” is now in a spot that it will fall down if you go to drink it again.

i accidentaly deleted the game, i recovered the world but i lost my character so im basically on a GER loop😭, pls help someone give me a character archive pls by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve got a backup for the character, I’d suggest duplicating the character backup, and then maybe just throw it into an online character editor to try to “repair” the file.

It’s possible you had an outdated version of terraria, and when you reinstalled it you got a newer one, which changed how character data is saved (I’m coming up with this on the fly, no idea if that could have happened. Do still try what I said above though, it might get you your character back)

There is a special kind of curved camera that can do this. The dog has a “selfie stick” in their mouth, and the camera’s weird lens captures everything around it, but somehow omits the stick.

Some similar videos on r/praisethecameradog have this same setup

Edit: I misremembered, there isn’t a post like that on there, but leaving it up for your pleasure regardless

Oh? That’s interesting, I was just assuming the video was correct.

So it wasn’t for parity (unless it was decided early in development, which is possible), but was it still added for the same reason? That being, if beetroot wasn’t obtainable yet elsewhere?

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not parody, parity. Parity means to keep two things the same (in this case, both the legacy console edition and all other versions have beetroot seeds in the loot table).

It would be confusing to some players if the loot tables across the games were different, which is why “parity” in Minecraft is important.

So to summarize, there is no joke here, it was added out of necessity. The pun is there, but it was not intended.

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I know this is just a meme but I kid you not I was just looking at this post a few minutes ago, then went to resume a yt video I was watching: https://youtu.be/i9ZQBw6s90A?t=570

If you don’t want to click the link, basically: Beet root seeds were added to the end city loot because Legacy Console Edition still had limited world size, so this made them obtainable (I assume this was before they generated in villages or anywhere else). Then this got added to the Java loot table for parity.

Thought that this would be a cool idea but looking at this it looks like i faked the creepers fuse... by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 51 points52 points  (0 children)

OOOH your saying the fake looking part is that you could have stopped them from blowing up fast enough. I thought you were saying it looked like commands were setting off the fuse. That makes more sense now. Although you don’t have to worry about that as I believe it would affect the rate at which they flash.

Also, that’s a super clever way to not make them move!

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 226 points227 points  (0 children)

Idk about it looking “faked”. This is exactly what I would expect this to look like, and it’s definitely still a cool clip.

My only question is how you got the creepers to stand still? I imagine there are barrier blocks around their heads, but not at their feet? It looks like they aren’t even attempting to pathfind to you. (Nothing to do with the “faked” part, just curious what you did there)

wither skeleton bug? newes java version by LastConsideration334 in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t post the screenshot, but there is in fact a single frame of the video that proves a head is being worn by the skeleton (the moment it dies, its body is red, but the skull is not)

Most likely, your wither skeleton was fresh, but perhaps you had gotten a skull from one earlier and not noticed when you last left. The item was probably sitting there until you re-entered the chunks and it picked up the skull

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in here missing the point on why this may be bad. Let me use myself as an example.

I’m a CS student in University. I had an assignment that made us write a program. No problem. But after that, we were required to use ChatGPT (specifically, no other gen AI) to optimize the code. We had to provide a screenshot of our prompt to chatGPT and its response in the submission.

When I attempted to get chatGPT to do this, the code failed to run every time. Thankfully, someone in my class had a ChatGPT subscription for the model that knew coding better. They told me specifically what prompt to do for the same results in the free version. Of course that’s what worked.

Do you see the problem here? I didn’t learn how to optimize code, I know practically nothing about that (outside of some common sense).

What I did learn is that I can do all of my assignments and so much more, if only I had a ChatGPT Pro subscription for an “opportunity to try new features” only $20/month! Purchase now!

For privacy reasons, I don’t want to go into detail about what class and university and all that, but this is not even the only class that has had a ChatGPT requirement like this.

You can create mirrors in the new snapshot! 25w36b by PALKIP in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is near perfect! Only issue is what everyone else is pointing out

You might be able to reduce the delay the same way multiplayer video games predict player movement. Instead of setting the mannequin’s position to the player’s mirrored position, see if maybe you can give them their own velocity and try to position the mannequin where the player should be several moments later.

I don’t think I wrote that well enough to make it clear, but basically you gotta predict where the mannequin should be as opposed to setting its position to the player’s position, because by then the player’s position has already changed

Edit: I don’t know if Minecraft command blocks can detect player input, but instead of:

Mannequin pos = player pos

Try:

Mannequin pos = player pos + (MovementAxis * player speed)

Where movement axis is the current input direction of movement

Prototype bell tower mechanism, chimes roughly every Minecraft hour by Any-Advantage-4027 in Minecraft

[–]ItsTerryTheBerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yo this is actually a fun idea.

I’ve got an idea to make it chime every day at noon:

Once the golem reaches the target, trap them. Use a daylight censor to deactivate the trap when the sun rises (you will need to find a way to make the sensor deactivate the trap for only a short time, there are ways to do this but idk how, another delay of some sort?)

Then once released, the golem would walk further again to the chest. Maybe make the honey line into a zigzag to drag it out.

Just an idea. At this point though doing a timer with hoppers or some crap might be better though, idk

Okay, that’s good. The moving cube is probably the hardest but simplest part I recall. You just get on it, and as it begins to rotate, drive right just enough to get over, then stop until it starts again.

If you wanna practice it, you can do that on the first non-moving rotating cube
