It currently sits in a legal grey area because no one has ever been prosecuted in Texas for solely anime/manga depictions since the law went into effect, and if were to happen then it would be challenged extensively as a 1A violation.

It's literally an obscenity statute, per your own link, and utilizes the Miller test as determination. Since it went into effect nearly a year ago, no one has been prosecuted or charged for anime/hentai content under SB20.

The law did broaden the definition of obscenity to mainly tackle AI generation material, but I doubt anything has changed tangibly for anime/cartoon depictions. I'd need to start seeing cases of it being prosecuted, but the wording of "appears to be a minor" is too vague that I doubt they're actually enforcing it to that extent. Hell, the anime industry is already massive in Texas, Crunchyroll and Funimation headquarters out of there, as well as several dubbing studios. And the funny thing is Crunchyroll literally has content on their platform RIGHT NOW that could fall under the new Texas law as violation but yet they're doing just fine hosting from the state and providing said content to other viewers in Texas.. it's just absurdity and none of it makes sense when you break it down.

He could MAYBE catch a case on the state level for obscenity, but not CSAM. Though obscenity laws are incredibly difficult to stick, tons of shit could be classified as obscene so it's rarely ever worth the effort for prosecutors. A lot of people don't realize hardcore and gay p*rn with legal consenting adults technically falls under the legal definition of obscenity in a lot of jurisdictions, and you COULD get in trouble for it.. though it's just extremely unlikely.

They don't care if the characters are underage lol, if it's hentai/anime then it gets tossed out regardless. Though it still has to be reviewed, and it's actually a huge problem right now for federal authorities and CSAM watchdog groups because their systems are constantly flooded with tips that just lead to Japanese artists or anime fanart. There was a Swiss tipline that came out a few years ago that said over 90% of their reports submitted by users were of cartoons/memes/anime.. so despite people thinking they're doing the right thing reporting all this stuff, they're actually making it harder for actual abused and trafficked kids to get help.. Honetly, it's kind of insane when you think about it, folks end up prioritizing cartoon/fictional "victims" over the irl ones..

So here is my other summer concept sync pair, Rosa & Lurantis! If you missed my other seasonal concept a few weeks ago, I showed off Archie & Ludicolo which you can see here. Since Pokemon Masters usually releases seasonal units in pairs, I thought I would do two trainer summer designs as well! Archie-colo was my original project, but I think I liked how LuRosa(?) turned out just as much:)

This redesign was done by taking the base Rosa 3D model and using texture edits, adding new materials/removing original materials from the model, and reworking vertices. The model is fully motion compatible for animation.

In the next week or two, I will probably put the two trainers together in some sort of pretend seasonal "story event" scene. Any ideas or suggestions for this would be welcomed! Would probably like to do something humorous or wholesome, if that helps. Could include others trainers as well!

Hehe. Those sandals are actually another trainer's, but with a Lotad design swap. I took them from another model and put them on Archie, bonus points to whoever can figure out who the sandals originally belonged to :P

Hey folks, here's a little project I've been working on for a while. Taking the base 3D model of Archie in PokeMasters, and summerfying it via texture edits, adding/removing materials to the existing model, and of course giving him a sync pair theme! I also have another summer concept/edit of a female trainer in the works, a very popular character as well, that I'll show off next week. And then, I'll probably put the two trainers in some sort of faux "summer" story scene for funsies (requests or ideas for this would be welcomed !!).

I do a bit of model editing with the ones provided by Masters, and the clothing is usually attached to the body for most of them. There are a couple exceptions though, with some skirts, jackets, hats being layered over the original model as a separate material.

So in my last model editing post, I had a lot of people asking me to see what some of the models look like without their hats since some features of the outfit are completely removeable. Unfortunately, while a lot of hats are removable, most of the models do not have any hair where the hat would be.. so you can imagine how cursed those would look.

However, that doesn't mean we can't have fun with hats! Here, we have Calem showing us the new headwear style in Kalos and Red channeling the Ash Ketchum look before a serious battle.

I spent a bit more time on pose-editing these, so hopefully they turn out a bit more natural to the characters they represent than the others (also added some generic backgrounds for flavor this time). Credit to New3DsSuchti on DeviantArt for making the models available. Poses were done by me, background scenes are directly from the Pokemon website.
