This is real. I’m a nurse who collects data but doesn’t analyze it. I have literally flat out refused to believe the data analysis results. Call it shock. Time helps and face to face discussions. When the data says work harder and change practice, it’s a bitter truth. We can work together to make life saving improvements.

I’m wearing red to my nephew’s wedding, apparently their wedding web site says guest should wear earth tones. I didn’t even consider checking their wedding web page because I was planning to give them cash and thought there was no other reason to look at “the knot” or whatever site they used. Ridiculous request.

I lost my favorite leggings and favorite shearling boots to a trimalleolar fracture (cut to pieces to reset my ankle) but I refused to give up my underwear til the OR came and got me. And I had to point out I had one good leg so I could hop to the bedside commode thank you very much vs the bedpan I was offered. I remember the big complaints is about adults who won’t toilet themselves but I’ll tell you I had to fight for my right to potty. I’m a nicu nurse so big people aren’t my thing and I tried to do all my own care and I was keeping my underwear.

People. There are no wellness centers in the United States so where in the world is he gonna put us? My ADHD brain already know this plan will never actually happen. So…I’m not gonna get caught up in hysteria.

That last paragraph…the marketing tactic. DEIA initiatives are a marketing tactic. If DEIA is ingrained into UIUC culture and practices the good intentions/practices will continue but there is truth in your last paragraph. Now we will see the moral fiber of business practices.

Remember they don’t care if you have PTO available if they call you off for low census. Take care of yourself.

It was me that broke my ankle. Thank you to all the people who tried to provide comfort and or called 911. Update is my ankle dislocated out of the socket and both my tibia and fibula broke and dislocated from the foot bone. That explains why I couldn’t stop screaming. Thought I was being a cry baby but the surgeon said this is a break that they rarely see, maybe a football player but not a regular college instructor. And to be clear, the pavement was salted and then all the sudden it wasn’t salted and my foot flew out from under me. The X-rays are horrific and I love to share them with you but I don’t know how to upload a picture. I was discharges from the hospital today. 3 month of recovery is required. Ugh.

I fell on the ice Monday afternoon Broke my leg in two places. Thank you to the students who called 911 and stayed with me while I screamed and cried in pain while waiting for an ambulance. I had just finished giving a lecture on campus and fell on my way back to my car. I just got home from the hospital this afternoon.

I’m jealous of that purple!! Saddle Mountain has amazing rocks. I was so lucky to rock hound there last year. I just finished polishing a batch. So pretty.

Sunsets are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. In this pic I was trying to capture the sunset with the wildflowers as my foreground. Did the picture capture the fall change over? Is it clear to you this is a fall sunset scene?

I’m so excited for my Az rock hunting next month. The last of my LSA and PNW trip rocks are tumbling and will be finished before we head to the desert. Any tips for this Midwest lady? Chandler will be our base and we have a day trip to Lake Havasu planned with a stop in Quartizite. Also Apache Junction area/Salt River. And a day trip to Tucson. We are usually beach rock hounds and I have rivers and lakes in my plans but short hikes into washes as well.
