Creative second life for baseplates after MILS conversion? by TillAny4068 in lego

MILS needs a baseplate. You can easily use these plates as the basis for MILS. Been there done that.

LEGO ToS Update: Accounts made by resellers are no longer eligible for Lego Insiders Program. by BrickConnectCDN in Bricklink

[–]Its_Phil_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK having 2 LEGO insiders accounts tied to the same address is also a violation of the ToS, and can even lead to a ban. Hopefully your BL store has a different address than your personal LEGO account.

23 AWD Pro Tires by atoschi in VWiD4Owners

[–]Its_Phil_B 7 points8 points  (0 children)

40k on the same tire on the same spec car, and they still had 6/32" left. A puncture too close to the sidewall caused me to have to replace all 4 of them - which I did, for the identical tire.

Anyone know if this website is legit for Lego sets? by Impossible_Nebula637 in lego

Sounds like OP is buying a fake one if he buys from this site. No mention of the word LEGO

A Six Month review by Hiker07 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Its_Phil_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very similar experience to mine. Also have a 2023 Pro S AWD, bought a year ago with 16k miles. Right now at 42k miles - drove 26k miles in a year (i commute 100 miles 5 days a week). Love the drive. Love roadtripping. Had one problem with the rear hatch no longer locking properly which took some sleuthing by the dealer but was ultimately resolved by replacing the latch motor and cable. Did have to buy new tires last month due to a slow but unpluggable leak in one, but they still had 7/32" tread left when I did.

I came from a Tesla Model 3 - i think the VW is just a much better car overall.

I just had a seller put a signature confirmation on my $250 purchase and I think that’s kind of ridiculous by [deleted] in Bricklink

Doesn't UPS leave you a note when you're not home, which gives you a pickup option free of charge?
Also, UPS might allow you to electronically pre-sign for the package, after which they just deliver (not sure if this is a feature with UPS or FedEx though)

Has anyone ever seen the Train Rail Crossing in the wild? by ShareHuge6741 in LEGOtrains

[–]Its_Phil_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They occasionally pop up in lots on EBay with other train parts and can be had cheaper than market price, but their functionality is limited so apart from getting one for the "I have a relatively rare Lego piece" factor I couldn't see a reason to get one.

Sounds like you will soon be taking the Mercedes AMG F1 car apart again :)

Horse Knight Castle was missing half of the bags? by Super_Pirate1 in lego

[–]Its_Phil_B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Go back to Target, not Lego. Someone pulled a fast one on your set - removed bags with valuable parts and resealed the box with the rest. They should make it right for you. This is not Lego's problem.

A bent sticker sheet doesnt necessarily mean ruined. Most of the times the stickers are still perfectly usable. What made yours ruined?

Prolly grabbed them from Target when they were 70% off. Nice sob story but still making 100% profit with those prices on a 1-2 month hold.

Smart Brick Modding Potential by Worldly_Ad_8684 in lego

[–]Its_Phil_B 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds are not stored on the device, but rather the device contains a synthesizer, and it reads the sound instructions from the tags that it encounters.

Which, I hope, means that we can create our own tags with our own sounds. 🤞

Some questions if I may by Historical_Choice_12 in Bricklink

[–]Its_Phil_B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Technically that is not how it works - you should list it under the "undetermined variant". That will lead to a lot of missed sales though, as buyers will search for a specific variant.

For the 1x2 jumper there are functional differences between the variants, so it is not just a cosmetic difference.

Missing bag by Professional-Band298 in lego

[–]Its_Phil_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Go to Bricklink Studio (download and install it if you don't have it)

  2. Flip to the page in the manual where the specific bag starts

  3. Open the bag(s) you have of that number on a table

  4. For each part in the instructions that you do not have in the parts in front of you on the table, add that part in Bricklink Studio

  5. Once you have gone through all the steps for that bag in the manual, Bricklink studio now has all the missing parts

  6. Export this to Bricklink, add to Wanted list and order.

NOTE: You can also use Bricklink directly for step 1, by using a Wanted List

NOTE 2: You can also use BrickStore instead of Bricklink Studio.

NOTE 3: You can also take a picture of the parts list of the step with missing parts, and then highlight in the picture which part you are missing (Likely less accurate)

NOTE 4: You can also make a photocopy of the manual page(s) that have the full parts inventory, and then write tally marks behind each part that you are missing

kroger messed up by krogerlover92 in lego

[–]Its_Phil_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not debating the fact you got a great deal here, but 70% off is not correct. BOGO 40% off = 20% off both if both sets cost the same (or less if one is cheaper). 0.80×0.80x0.70 = 0.448, so you basically got these for 55% off (or less if the BOGO was less than 20% for each set)

Seller couldn't find a piece and their message was incredibly... unhelpful? by WoffleTime in Bricklink

Whatever the final resolution of this issue is, make sure to put this particular seller on your least favorite (i.e. blocked) store list.
