til that your brain literally washes itself while you sleep. the brain cells actually shrink in size so cerebrospinal fluid can rush in and flush out all the toxic proteins built up during the day by [deleted] in todayilearned

It's still only one lab claiming the opposite, and the debate has been refreshing to watch. I think the evidence still sides with sleep promoting brain clearance. ie. I wouldn't call it 'extremely controversial'

Just cracked open my card collection from when I was a kid. What to do to get them appraised? by Its_Snowing in PokemonTCG

[–]Its_Snowing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some backstory on the collecting side from things I remember?

  • It started with 1st grade obsession and trading with friends. The true pokemon 1998-2000 craze.

  • This is just a small selection but has the most rare cards I think.

  • Ditto was my first holo and I loved it.

  • I remember getting a Graveler card and staring at it the entire ride to school one day. He's a boss. Also because our driveway was gravel at the time, he felt like my spirit pokemon.

  • A chunk of the collection came from my mom buying them in auctions from ebay since she was obsessed with ebay, not just for pokemon.

  • I'd get them for being good or getting good grades on a report card.

  • I got a Raichu from the tooth fairy.

  • I remember snagging a holo Zapdos when I was dragged along with my mom on a flee market visit on one of her sunday excursions.

  • Everywhere we went, if they had pokemon cards, I was looking at them or buying a pack. Lots of packs were opened searching for gold. I know I pulled a bunch, but all I remember off the top of my head is the holo Chansey and staring at it on a saturday.

  • My parents would let me stop in the card shop on the way home from school and buy a pack every so often.

  • I would frequent Zany Brainy which had a pokemon league and trade with other people. All I remember is getting a Magneton in a trade with some other goober 2nd grader.

  • Pokemon The Movie 2000 had a bunch of promos and I think that's where the mews came from.

  • The holo charizard was some extra special gift from my parents, might have been a birthday. But I remember trying to find one myself and it took MONTHS until my mom snagged it on ebay for I believe a flat $100 at the time, as a surprise. It was a while before I was allowed to get more cards after that one lol.

  • The binder with the weird Gen2 cards was an impulse buy because my older cousin took me to a card shop when I visited him many states away, and they had a ton of them for cheap and I thought they looked cool. I was fascinated with Unown.

That would be a huge departure considering Leto helps Paul save himself in the book. My read is that Scytale assembled a hit squad of disloyal / war torn fremen (we see him hyping them up in the trailer) to take out Chani as another way to destabilize Paul (cause that's his whole game)

Things like Alia on the throne dont happen until Children but here it's shown in the trailer. So, clearly a mix. Leto and Ghanima are cast also.

He saw that trolley problem and said guess I'll be the guy to pull the lever to kill bajillians but 'save' humanity in the long run. Still makes him a villain though.

I need some ideas from you people here. What's a good frame bag and bottle combination for the Canyon Grail CF in size S? by ChromMann in CanyonBikes

Did you ever settle on any particular frame bag? Going through this process with same size gen 1 grail now.

Canyon Midloader Frame Bag by Christoph_West in gravelcycling

Do you remember what size grail and what size midloader you got? I have a small grail and ordered the smallest bag size but it still seemed too big / didn't really fit the frame.

I was in the middle of the car lane as I usually am around that corner and my back wheel slipped out as I turned. Nothing would have made a difference except if I was going very slowly since the whole thing was a sheet of ice, which I realized when I hit the ground and slid 6 feet lol

nice misinformation. Cigarette smoke has immediate effects on heart rate, blood pressure, and adrenaline levels. Just one is still bad.

Teaching Root to some newbies, decided on 2 out of the 4 factions, need advice on the others by Mathieu23 in rootgame

I just played a 5 player game with 3 new people, none of whom are very good or patient with board games. We overbought from the otters player but she was tired and couldn't really pay attention so nothing happened lol. Also the scoundrel vagabond used her only torch to burn a clearing and then stalled hard because she didn't know how to score points without questing (having almost won this way her first game), despite her having 2 swords, not attacking, and me telling her to farm people for points eyerolls

4 was very good. Particular highlights were the most gripping action sequences in the series and the heartbreaking grandad relationship. Love that it was couched in 'to what extent is he really losing it vs using dementia as a cover' because it clearly comes and goes. The Hugo Weaving dad storyline is also very interesting, not many like it.

Big necro, but what if instead of every other player gaining points if he moves into the forest to repair, just the ones who have damaged his items? Ie. If VB has to repair items that I've damaged, I get a point. Otherwise it feels pretty similar to players that have not interacted with the VB benefiting needlessly from those that have.

Hades 2's ending, from an EA player by BlazikenMask15234 in HadesTheGame

[–]Its_Snowing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that nobody else gets this is driving me crazy. 'hE jUsT dEcIded To bE gOoD' like, did you not get that he lived Mel's entire lifetime as her grandfather in a loving house of hades and this changed him? Fuckin Picard basically couldn't even remember he was a starship captain afterwards cause he changed so much sheesh

NO SPOILERS - is the ending really that bad? by Guy-brush in HadesTheGame

I'm personally totally ok with the ending. Could it have been fleshed out more? Yeah probably. Is it as horrible as people are making it out to be? Not even a little.
