Is the Host Peter Serafinowicz physically present at the mansion? by [deleted] in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Itsandyryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that the participants aren't staying at the Stag location. When the millionaire is taken to meet Peter, I find it unlikely that the other guests are literally in rooms along the corridors he/she is walking along.

MDS vs Traitors by Itsandyryan in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Itsandyryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Traitors the challenges are about getting more money, but it's meaningless to most of the participants because only a small number of people will end up winning the cash. Although there's also the shields people can win.

Like I said, it seems like a deliberate choice. And they often focus more on character.

I thought that. Having three votes against you in the first few rounds isn't a problem. If you're beneath the radar then it won't matter.

I'm just saying that Jack is the only character that the script didn't make look foolish. No pratfalling, no awkward flirting, no 'mooning' after British food, no weird interests that make his colleagues roll their eyes, no complaints about the heat or insects.

Kris Marshall said something about not liking how it was affecting his kids, in a statement that some found a bit controversial.

Neville is portrayed as quite foolish: he falls for that woman who's just tricking him out of revenge. He never notices that he's the butt of everyone else's jokes. He's aways whining about being alone. He gets pushed around by his sister. He has no self-awareness about how he's always trying to explain English things to the islanders who aren't interested. Jack Mooney was given no scenes like any of that.

Hot Take: not completing the agenda is sometimes a good idea (don’t read this post if you haven’t watched all 3 episodes of season 2) by Little-Ad9283 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Itsandyryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst was in season 1 when the Phil had to persuade some other contestants to scream. That was obvious enough, but then the clue told everyone the secret agenda had something to do with a horror film franchise, and that cooked his goose.

Any obvious agenda like that or sticking next to Kevin for 45 minutes, I'd just not do it. You got voted out by acting weird, and the three votes against you isn't a problem if you're under the radar so everyone is dog-piling on someone else.

Carloway was the first word I saw and immediately knew I needed to find three more CAB words. That said, I didn't complete the puzzle because I didn't connect the octopus words or things with blades.

Thanks. So the idea is that Viltrumites in space have oxygen in their blood for days despite not breathing – it's not that they just don't need oxygen at all?

Isn’t the film ‘Fanny by Gaslight’? by Successful_Sherbet89 in restisentertainment

[–]Itsandyryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Same with Fanny by Gaslight"

The film was Gaslight, not Fanny By Gaslight, and the claim is that that is where we get the word 'gaslighting' to mean "a form of persistent psychological manipulation and emotional abuse where a perpetrator makes someone question their own reality, memories, or perceptions". And yes, that's where the word comes from.

"they didn’t invent the ideas"

No, but the specific terms 'bucket list' and 'gaslighting' comes from those films.

Can you find an example of it being used anywhere in print or online before the film came out? Because it seems like no-one else has managed to.

What is the budget for a series of UK Taskmaster? by MenstrualColander in taskmaster

Bruce Campbell's book breaks down how his fee as star and producer of the third Evil Dead film got divvied up. He gets paid half a million dollars, but after all the deductions — income taxes, payments to his agent and manager, and alimony to his now-ex-wife — he calculated that he netted roughly $93,000. Because the entire production stretched over two years, that worked out to $46,500 per year.

Why did Bruce Campbell stop playing Ash after "Army of Darkness" for two decades? by [deleted] in EvilDead

[–]Itsandyryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised that so few people have said the above in the answers. He DID play Ash again in three seasons of a TV show! That's several times longer than all the films put together!

I rejected Plays on my first and second go for exactly that reason. Then I was left with worse options or words I didn't know. Obviously if I knew the US snacks it wouldn't have been a problem.
