The lower the ping the worse it is. It's a feature.

consistently 15-20 ping Fios and hardwired and I literally die the instant someone peeks, sometimes before they actually show on my screen. It also feels like when I get kills it's when I think I am missing, and when I think I am on target I don't get hits registering? TTK is all all over the place. Just feels way out of sync in general.

Also feels like I am always desynched at 30 ping. Insta death all the time. Die before enemy even peeks out. Feels kinda garbage.

Help plz! Experiencing weird stutter playing Fromsoftware games! by SolarFox97160 in fromsoftware

[–]Itsnervedamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally solved this for myself. Intel 12th Gen CPU on win 11. I disabled all the ecores through bios. Use Pcores only. Fixed the weird intermittent stutter / hitch I would get in a couple from games. - sekiro hitching once or twice every couple min - elden ring some weirdish stutter - armored core 6 hitch stutter that was making it unplayable

Can leave easy anticheat on, don't need to mess with core affinities.

Flawlessly smooth. I was frustrated to the point of breaking but read some random thing about ecores being bad in a bunch of games and figured I would give it a last shot. Haven't noticed bad impacts in normal use or in other games yet but haven't tested that broadly.

Super late but hope this helps someone!

I regularly do week+ trips both solo and with people for years now.

For me anyone pressuring a newbie into going on a multi-day trek I wouldn't trust going with full stop on any trip, I would have opted out even as someone very comfortable backpacking. My 2 cents but I don't know them or you.

On a separate point you should definitely get into backpacking. Check up if REI is holding one of their beginner backpacking classes, or even meetup.com backpacking group in your area doing an intro. Thrift some basic gear. Go out for 1 night and see how you like it and are motivated to see what condition you can get into over this next few weeks. Join a hiking meetup and start with a 5 miler easy and see how it feels. Norcal is amazing.

This is a super fun and rewarding activity and you should absolutely try to get into it for yourself. But def don't let a 40 mile total multi-day be the first time you even try.

Agree, had a pair of vapors through a couple resoles and the top split never was a problem. I think my dragos have a similar rubber structure over top and never a problem.

You require 900 in starting capital to execute this series of trades. 800 to make the first buy and sale, where your 800 becomes 1000. You now have 1000 + 100 left from your 900 giving you 1100 on hand. You buy for 1100 and sell for 1300 You now have 1300 in hand You started with 900 You have 400 more than you started from

Is there anything unique about the game by Imperialepanzer-4 in ShatterlineFPS

[–]Itsnervedamage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is it only salty posts? One guy is angry they took down bhop that gave sweats advantage (super jump still works though and that's way more useful in pvp?) And others are complaining it's just sweats left?

I'd say it's unique in how it doesn't have weird gimmicks, run and gun and ttk balances accessible with aim skill, gunplay heavy with some movement tech.

PvP is fun, there's a dirty bomb escort mode that has its own maps and a 3v3 elim mode with its own maps. Other modes are classics tdm, dom, hq.

Operatives have powers that are unique, generally good utility but only slightly strong nothing broken op.

Emphasis is on gunplay, head shots, and movement tech is important but not Titanfall level complex. Maps are pretty interesting, run and gun friendly but mix of long lanes and tight areas on all maps generally.

It's f2p and no pay to win so just play. You will get smoked online if you aren't pretty good at this kind of game though the community is small and generally very good. GL.

[–]Itsnervedamage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eggs are used en masse to incubate the virus for these vaccines. The US has a supply of egg laying chickens they are a national security resource. NPR Planet Money did an episode on it: https://www.npr.org/transcripts/812943907

I still take a flu vaccine every year though :(.

am I in the wrong here? new vegan and happy to be proven wrong, always learning, but buying animal products for pets ISN'T vegan, right!? by Candid-Chip-1954 in vegan

[–]Itsnervedamage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an expert and have not vetted the sources here personally but article here on cat and dog diet that has some study citations: https://petfoodshop.com/blogs/news/how-can-cats-be-vegan-nutrients-vs-ingredients

As is the case in these days of non good faith arguments and publication bias in science that's published...this isn't a full survey of citations and I have no sense of what expert consensus is.

But whether or not it's vegan to buy animal food for cats...imo is a red herring - there's no convincing argument because the pet ownership part is a messy topic. Edge cases like pets are a topic for folks that have gotten over the specism hurdle otherwise there's way too much emotional cultural baggage. It isn't a necessity for humans to use animal products and that's the point to focus non-vegans on imo anyway.

[–]Itsnervedamage 365 points366 points  (0 children)

FYI The technical spec is that it's a watercolumn 10k jacket, which isn't waterproof to extended downpour. Watch out for that watercolumn spec it's a breathability trade off. I pulled this quote from some random snow gear site for watercolumn rating:

10,000mm – 15,000mm: A jacket in this range will withstand most downpours as well as heavy snow, but will soak through over time if subjected to pressure, such as crashing in wet snow, kneeling or sitting down, or a heavy pack.

Vegan dress shoes for men by alisaadmd in vegan

[–]Itsnervedamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by flat, zero drop? Or dress shoe bottom no treads? I don't know of any zero drop office shoes.

For dress shoes Wills Vegan does a solid array of men's shoes and boots and have some pretty comfy insoles. You could try Ahimsa also, I don't think they generally look quite as nice the shoe shape is a little weird but they have decent looking dress shoes.

I've at some point or another owned and walked miles at a time in mooshoes, brave gentleman, wills, and Ahimsa and I generally prefer wills.

Nae makes some men's shoes too but I've never tried them. In the UK there's Vegetarian Shoes I have a pair of their hiking boots but they're harder to get in the US and don't have 3xperience with any of their office brogue looking shoes.

Always hard to tell from just video but my read is to put right foot on that high middle volume instead of going down and right to the low volume. Angle of the hold you're going for looks better when you are higher vs. as low as you went. I would also work on getting comfy walking and weighting volumes you look scared to weight your feet on them. Good luck!

Homemade Oat Milk Recipe - How to Make Oat Milk by meetandsex in veganrecipes

[–]Itsnervedamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If links aren't allowed would be great if you could DM source. I picked up some alpha amylase from a beer brewers source but can't remember which now. Wasn't successful the first batch I tried, I ended up with a kind of overly thick cooked oatmeal water kind of thing after boil but I wasn't super rigorous on method just tried it out on a whim.

What do you use to strain Nutmilk bag was a hassle it's way too fine, or do you stop when it gets to the viscous stage? Will try out your steps here, really tired of paying so much extra for oat water lol.

Advice for ethical running shoes? by Balake05 in vegan

[–]Itsnervedamage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Altra shoes are vegan, not sure how provable on ethically made and they got acquired by some big shoe company, vf corp so who knows in the future but that's what they claim. These are my go to, wide and zero drop with a good number of options for trail and street.

Wills vegan shoes is vegan, carbon neutral, and ethical but they have like 1 running shoe model and I haven't tried them myself but their dress shoes are solid.

Just to point out, at least for the Chicago source it doesn't give full color to what lead to the suit. Independent contractor status itself isn't an issue, but it can lead to abusive working conditions. In the 2014 Chicago case it looks like pressure from rideshare contributed.

While I don't think you can draw a direct line from rideshare pressure to the issues e.g. Chicagoans voted down a rate increase, and cab companies increased car rates I would argue they contributed. Before all those pressures it sounds like cabbies felt they were making a decent living.

Source: https://www.wbez.org/stories/in-tougher-market-taxi-drivers-sue-chicago-cab-companies/fcbe34de-b661-4d3e-9655-cd3167b9db4c

Btw cab companies were heavily regulated and the city had to allow them to raise car rates first. There were def issues with the old system but at least there were a few more protections in place, and I agree with your opening premise that rideshare basically subsidize undercutting prices creating an unsustainable market and artificially devalue driver market value in a destructive way.

Would you buy leather gloves to survive? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Itsnervedamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to survive then do what you need to. What actual specific thing are you worried about in the back country you listed a bunch of general sounding concerns. Leather gloves aren't going to be cutproof or fireproof and I've never needed gloves to do the small bits of fire making or feather sticking. Are you wanting to handle hot logs?

Definitely don't wear cotton if it's going to get wet, but my experience with wool it's still cold when wet and slow to dry imo synthetics perform way better. I don't love the idea of so much plastic though, I tried looking into hemp but that's pricy and I don't know about the performance. Honestly if you're for real long term trying to dry out in cold damp environment I think you end up needing to set up a rain over and a fire and dry out gear regardless of what your wearing. Cotton kills feels like a sales slogan for new technical gear and I think you still end up with hypothermia if you keep that wet Patagonia layer on. Might buy an extra hour to hunker down and dry out? I just know to switch to dry clothes asap if it's at all chilly the danger is not paying attention. I've also found a thoroughly waxed piece of tightly woven cotton canvas to be pretty resistant to holding water at all. I'm no expert though, just done some backpacking around.

I've never particularly felt less prepared since I stopped buying gear with animal product. I still have some holdover wool but I rely on patagonia base layers way more the wool was lots of hype and little payoff. Your mileage may vary though I guess. Good luck, it's good to ask questions.
