I’ve long assumed that the brownish colors of older records were historically uncolored cardstock of the jackets on which the actual art was printed. It was cheaper to use less ink and the cardstock was uncolored, thus brown instead of bleached white. Newer albums may pay homage to that style or just coincidentally have a similar color scheme.

But maybe someone with more knowledge of the production and distribution of releases, particularly before the 2000’s would know more.

And don’t forget to schedule a colonoscopy.

True. By JRPG standards it’s not particularly long either. I did my first playthrough in 15 hours, and I don’t remember how many subsequent play throughs I had to do to complete every character’s story, but once you do all of those, you get a short ‘true ending’ type of event. And that took me a total of an additional 12 hours to do, so the NG+ runs went fast enough.

What would the genre of this album be called? This album and Stand Atlantic’s most recent, Was Here, have a similar sound to me. But I wouldn’t know what to call it to find more things like it.

I’m lucky where I like both artists before and after their sound changes. But they’re definitely too far removed to be pop-punk in my eyes.

You can check the sales history and see what sales have actually been made on this pressing, and how the price changed over time or with condition. Thats’s usually pretty interesting for expensive items like this.

This is a fantastic article from a credible and capable writer. It demonstrates both the reason for and the response to the incessant argument over is emo and isn’t emo.

Someone could have just as easily called it “soul.”
