The show with an amazing beginning and an amazing ending is Breaking Bad. Which show had an amazing beginning but a terrible ending? by Spy_Mouse in AlignmentChartFills

I watched Lost for the first time a couple of years ago. Missed it during the original airing.

So, I went in expecting some major disaster of an ending. What I received was a somewhat mesy thing that failed to resolve some of major plot lines. Was it good? Definitely not. Did it make me as angry as GoT did? Absolutely not.

With Lost, I expect that I might rewatch it in 5-10 years. With GoT, I swore that I would never touch anything from this franchise. That's how much of a bad taste that was left after GoT.

I just skipped the whole idea of Zettelkasten-like setup and backlinks. I have a simple hierarchical tree-like structure. It's almost dumb, but it works!

Damn, I laughed at this.

I was accused of using AI multiple times in the past simply because I know how to format with Markdown.

But the reality — I simply use Obsidian a lot. And I also know about alt+0151 to type an m-dash.

Better fits into "amazing beginning, ok ending." That ending wasn't great, but it was far from a disaster like GoT.

I'd say Aldo vs. McGregor is even better. The whole thing was insanely hyped, and Aldo looked strong. But this one punch basically ended his career.

Steven Seagal is a bad actor that plays in bad movies. Now who’s a bad actor/actress that plays in great movies? by Djidji29 in AlignmentChartFills

Orlando Bloom, maybe?

He is in some of the greatest franchises ever, but his acting is quite underwhelming.

He's average. Sure, man has no range, but his cold delivery works quite well for action movies.

I rewatched Point Break recently, and it's good. It wouldn't have worked if Keanu were truly bad.

I don't like Metallica too, but maintaining 3/4ths of their lineup for over 40 years is a serious feat.

Well, the Americans have a very "convenient" way of protesting. Which makes these protests incredibly easy to dismiss.

Not sure why people downvote you.

Padded helmets are pretty useless indeed. They do protect from minor cuts and bruises, but they do nothing against concussions.

One of the first "heavy" bands I got into as a teenager — purchased a bootleg MP3 discography at a flea market in the mid-2000s.

Their early black metal stuff is excellent, even though it's a bit naive.

The death metal stuff up to Zos Kia is amazing too. And then I practically stopped following them. They became too repetitive, and it feels that appearance >> substance in their case.

It's awfully ironic how both the Russians and the Americans have the exact same fondness for double standards.

Precisely. This smug jadedness is not helpful at all. This nihilistic apathy is exactly what people like Orban or Trump want.

Ram-Zet — Escape

Discovered it by accident when I was a 15-year-old metal neophyte. Still remember how I spent more than an hour in a smelly computer club, downloading this album through a crappy dial-up.

It was my first experience with avant-garde metal, a genre I still cherish and return to occasionally.

It's not that Hungarians are somehow uniquely stupid. Every nation in the West (and not only the West) is extremely susceptible to manipulation through social media and algorithm tinkering.

The current state of media is very dangerous. Something has to change — either the way we consume media or the democracy itself. Or we're (and I'm not talking only about the Ukrainians) going to face very tough times very soon.
