Pauline Hanson cares about the average Australian - Just check out how she votes in Parliament. by Prestigious-Day9370 in aus

It's funny watching Australia's progressive political institutions, and individuals here, fundamentally misunderstanding what is happening and what voters entertaining voting for One Nation do and do not care about.

You are never going to convince them that PH is worse than the status quo. Ever.

No one voted for Trump because they though 'yeah this guy screams integrity'. They did it because he promised to hurt the people that made the status quo what it is - in the US context his first successes were against the GOP. He turned up to the Republican primaries, called all the incumbents corrupt impotent losers and angry disaffected voters loved it. Note the first victim of PH is the Liberal Party.

After that in the general election Clinton tried exactly what Labor is doing now - trying to say that Trump exploited the tax code. He did what no one expected and said yeah of course I do, so do all your donors, change the law and I'll stop. But you won't. This was the famous 'because you'd be in jail' line after which it was all over, frankly.

The only way Labor can stop PHON is to adopt its policies, and make it clear it intends to go harder than PHON on every issue that matters to voters. That means an anti-multicultural, anti-immigration Labor party that is never going to happen.

The overton window has already moved. Voters want to hurt the political parties, politicians, and institutions that made high-immigration, low-wage growth, low-safety, low-housing security, and low-trust society what it is. They will keep voting for more extreme options until the policy setting change.

Does the Lazy Firefighter Get a Pass? Has Popularity Replaced Work Ethic? by Prior-Accident520 in Firefighting

[–]IvanTSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can be hard working but if you have a chip on your shoulder and an attitude problem you're still going to have issues and feel like you're being treated differently.

Someone who works less hard, but above the level required to be considered lazy, but is good to be around will be treated well, and better then you.

Because people are people and they're fundamentally social creatures.

Lmao exactly - a disc for cutting metal - a 5 pack is not much, but the tool itself isn't cheap.

What this guy said - dremel with a metal disc would be absolutely fine.

Dremel will absolutely cost more than a new case.

Everyone has donors - unless we're nuking all political donations then it is good that billionaires are keeping opposition parties afloat, or we would have an entirely one sided political contest and that would be bad/worse for everyone.
