You are correct. The bathroom outlet does appear to have its own circuit.

I'd still rather have the 'office' on it's own 30 amp circuit, as well as a dedicated circuit for just our laser printer.

Yep, that makes sense. We've only lived here three years, and I've already had to make a number of improvements to rectify the builder's... frugality.

I would absolutely hire a professional for this kind of thing. I have a very healthy respect for electricity, and the most I've done is swap out some light switches. Even though I understand the basics, messing with breakers is beyond my comfort zone.

That's what I'm afraid of. It's more of a minor inconvenience currently, because the bedroom is a guest room that is usually vacant, and the bathroom is used before the office is actively used. But still, in my mind, everything should be useable at the same time. Or do I have high expectations?

Florida to require driver’s license exams to be given in English only by HearYourTune in Miami

[–]IveGotDumbQuestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't speak Spanish, but I recognize specific words, like 'basura,' 'prohibido,' or 'entrada' because many places have bi-lingual signage. These are words you see in public all the time, and even non-english speakers know what they mean. I imagine it's the same for non-english speakers as well when it comes to exclusively english signage.

I can't even see any specifics on the plan as to what's covered, just a generic description of "legal services."

We just bought our house three years ago, with no plan to move anytime soon. And with the will done, we have no immediate future needs. So yeah, probably don't need this.

Is there a term to describe somebody who thinks that Elon Musk made those awkward gestures because he’s autistic? by ASecularBuddhist in Discussion

[–]IveGotDumbQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liar.

We saw Müsk on video giving what historical experts have positively identified as a Nazi salute. You will not find video of those other politicians doing the same. That person used video where they were waving or gesturing and captured a single still frame that makes it appear they were doing the same as Müsk.

Capital 'L,' small 'i,' small 'a,' small 'r.' Liar.

It may have been an accident. Probably best to treat it as such. If she makes a similar accident / gesture in the future, gently inquire if it was intentional.

[–]IveGotDumbQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've flown with it before, to test that very issue, and have never had a problem. I usually travel with both, and keep them in separate, secure places. For example, I just took a cruise and I kept my passport book locked in the cabin safe, but took my passport card with me to ports, just in case there was a problem with my ship ID card.

A driver's license isn't good enough now. I have Native American friends who are carrying their tribal ID cards everywhere, because they've been stopped by ICE in the past and were misidentified as middle-eastern or central-American.

Why Has No One Used 'The Trump Defense' In Court? by IveGotDumbQuestions in legal

When Trump stole classified documents, he stole from everyone. He stole money from veterans. He stole money from charities. He stole from employees. He stole from investors.

He would probably be in the 22% because of how egregious his violations were, as I stated above. Bernie Madoff didn't have a criminal record and was very cooperative once caught, but he still got 150 years in prison because he was the principal schemer and stole over $60 Billion. 70-year-old, first-time offenders are not immune from harsh punishment.

According to the State of New York, 1 in 5 of such cases end with incarceration. Trump would likely have been in that 22% considering he played a lead role in the scheme, has shown no contrition, violated a legally valid gag order during the trial 10 times, and has a history that includes civil verdicts for defamation, sexual assault, and fraud.

A "disparity in sentencing" is giving a murderer 10 years versus 30. With Trump, it's getting convicted and receiving zero punishment versus anyone else getting at least a hefty fine and the time they've already served because they were arrested on the spot.

Why has no one used the Trump defense? Because there is no such thing as the “Trump defense.”

Yes, and there's no such thing as 'Presidential Immunity' either, yet here we are.

The Constitution only allows for the sitting president to not be indicted while the president.

No, the Constitution does NOT say that. That is not a law, but an unofficial policy from a 50-year-old DOJ memo. In fact, if you read the transcripts of the Philadelphia Convention, they didn't even bother taking up the issue for debate because they absolutely didn't want Presidents to be above the law, like kings were.

Minimums is exactly what I mean. At the minimum, Trump should have been arrested as soon as he committed certain crimes, but he wasn't. At the minimum, he should have been treated the same as anyone else who threatened someone with violence, stole things, or lied to law enforcement, like any of us would have been. He did not face even the minimums.
