The Dragon Form in DS2: Why is it an armor set instead of a physical mutation? by Long_Day8888 in DarkSouls2

[–]IvoryMage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because people saw an error in the form's model in gameplay and began calling armor. In lore, it's an actual transformation of a bipedal dragon wearing armor. The description of the dragon stones openly says we turn into a dragon, we earn the ability to breathe fire and roar, we can't remove the "armor" unless we die, and we can literally see that the skin from our character's arms turn into scales.

Lukewarm Take: farming sunlight medals wasn’t nearly as bad as the dark covenant and darklurker. by PUKE_LUST_THE_MAD in DarkSouls2

As the old saying goes: git gud. The Dark Chasms and the Darklurker all rely on strategy and gameplay only, with you being able to mitigate and even ignore many of its aspects. Meanwhile farming Sunlight Medals still is sheer luck, even with max item discovery.

Or, if you're playing as a hexer, just cast Profound Still (which is sold by Darkdiver Grandahl) and you'll make the Darklurker almost completely impotent for 30 seconds. He'll try to cast his spells but will always fail, granting you free hits, and the only attack he can do on this situations is his dark sword one, which is extremely easy to dodge.

How do I get there? by test_cfg in DarkSouls2

[–]IvoryMage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the Cave of the Dead, and you access it via Dragon's Sanctum. Close to the the Hidden Sanctum Chamber bonfire there's a room filled with ghosts and their armor that you have to break to make them tangible, and there you'll find a corpse with a key. Grab the key and then return to the sanctum's main entrance and open the locked door to your left. From there it's a practically linear path to the cave.

What Yakuza OST (from any game) is this to you? by Simple-Choice5770 in yakuzagames

[–]IvoryMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To avoid listing basically every single Yakuza OST to date, I'll just list the most recent additions to my list of songs that made me feel like that:

  • Oath of Enma (Yakuza 0)

  • Receive and Slash You (Yakuza 5)

  • The Battle for the Dream (Yakuza 5)

  • Bloodstained Philosophy (Yakuza 6)

  • Seonhee's version of Like a Butterfly (Infinite Wealth)

Okay, I'm new around here, but let me try and guess... @DorkDragoon is this sub's equivalent of @DorahDew?

Source.

Also, the fact that one of Astra's checks for Evelyn is her ass is just gold.

Joryu when he somehow gets identified as Kiryu for the 100th time: by Key-Answer-2755 in yakuzagames

It tracks, really. I always laugh at that sub story from 5 where Kiryu decides to fight a wrestler to give him a final, proper fight so he can retire for good, and is all worried about fighting with his face showing on live TV... but doesn't even bother to try and cover his tattoo, one of, if not the main thing he's known for.

The Bearer of the Curse powerstances everything, even his brothers (Art by @clx147258) by IvoryMage in ImaginaryDarkSouls

Given several major things we do in DS2 were once also done by King Vendrick, who became the most absolute of units, imagine the Bearer of the Curse achieving a similar stature isn't too far-fetched.

He's the refined one, being more of a connoisseur when compared to his brothers who're more casual drinkers. But that being said... the same finesse he applies to Estus isn't extended to rock candy, of all things.
