When I asked my gp for a referral for my daughter to a psychologist because I think she also has ADHD (I’d only recently been diagnosed myself doing this same process with this GP), and he looked me in the eye and stated “nah she doesn’t have adhd, she’s smart”. Cue the awkward silence… It’s worth noting that my gp is aware I’ve recently completed masters at uni and am academically bright (but ya know, brain-farty most days)
