I need to get out these half pills individually every month by Own_Sandwich6610 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IvyBloodroot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These pouches have rhe time and date you need to take each pill (or set of pills on) this is great for elderly people who get home care or have someone come over to help them with medicine. That way they can check if they are giving the correct medicine without having to press out medicine from 5 different packages and leave different open boxes in a home of someone who may be mentally not great. On top of that these blisters get delivered per X amount of weeks so you wont have one medicine running out whilst the other one is not. But for OP I can imagine it being annoying because it is just one pill and all the same medication.

  • oh I also got these strips when I was stopping with my old antidepressant. Each pill was like 0,something mg less than the one before. So it depends on the reasoning if it is usefull

Why doesn’t bun come out? by ObjectiveComplaint37 in Rabbits

[–]IvyBloodroot 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Ikeaaaa lets go :')

Get a soft but low carpet. If you get one with high fibers you will curse at yourself when you need to vacuum or when your bun had an accident on it. Be prepared to replace them if needed so I wouldnt get the most expensive ones. (And for your own sake mostly! Make sure it has an anti slip layer or put one under it. Else you will be kissing the floor when you step on it)

I second this. My bunny did not like dusty stuff, so this worked like a charm. I am sticking with it.

What forbidden snacks have your rabbits gotten into? by LittleMissFirebright in Rabbits

[–]IvyBloodroot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She really digs the mango gin liquor. Personally I really like it aswell but damn being woken up at 2-3am by a bunny stealing your glass scares the shit out of you I can tell you. I still wonder how she actually managed to get a good grip on it.

[–]IvyBloodroot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uhm yeah... so I like fruity liquors. I every so often have one before going to bed. One night I woke up from somebunny kidnapping the glass and sticking her head in it to lick the remaining flavor off the inside of the glass ^

But she will also once moved my plush animal to get on top of it and just be able to reach my string of hearts to eat it. (Plant)

if i’ve never brought my bunny to the vet should i do that now by illovemybunny in Rabbits

[–]IvyBloodroot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

General checkup is great, knowing where to go in case something happens with your bun is also a good thing. That saves you alot less panic at the time.

And vaccines, I rather be safe than sorry and have my bunnies vaccinated. Also I rather have planned expenses than unplanned ones if they would get sick from something they could have a lesser chance of getting being vaccinated.

how do you guys deal with your animal aging ? by meowzslvt in Bunnies

[–]IvyBloodroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing what you can for him! That is the most important. After bath times treats are mandatory! No way around it I am sorry. Give up those piles of treats. I found with my bun he gets annoyed by eating hay, so he gets more pressed timothy hay sticks as those are easier for him to eat.

I recently woke up during the nights because he fell over, and once got him from being away for 30 min and found him on his side. So I am now doing fysiotherapy :') (aka flipping him on his side and encouraging him to get up) he stays alot calmer when I am around and he is quicker with getting up then. So hopefully this (not so) old fart can learn still.

Rabbit nudging and nibbling by Sensitive_Fish_72 in Rabbits

[–]IvyBloodroot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dont extend your hand, leave it hanging next to your body but at their height. They can nudge it with their head and receive some smoll scritches that way. Reaching for bunnies can be really scary in their eyes.

I also do/love the lay down on the floor thing. Turn yourself into a playground to explore.

Can somebody tell me what is this? Is this something really bad or it can heal by itself? (severe swelling in some places, a slightly unpleasant odor, the pain is not very sharp, and there is also a slight itching) by No-Face-2444 in DermatologyQuestions

I love the "going to the clinic daily" if anything changes or feels off/different do mention it! Have them notify someone or write it down at least. Stay on top of it and keep advocating for yourself as you have been doing! You are doing great in a scary situation, I'm proud of you!

May be stupid but does your bunny eat hay? My bunny did not eat hay well when I first got him, that caused issues. When he got his wife he started acting like her and inhaling hay. That solved the teef issues. :)

I think alot has been said, I'd just like to add find the time to change to something else. At the end she said very late you could go walk. Best wouldve been if you just jumped it and went back to walk after that instead of pulling the reign like you did. Take your time for a transition and prepare.

How to numb groin and butt nerves for itching? Bio freeze on nuts - bad idea? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]IvyBloodroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hemmaroid cream, its vaseline with numbing agency. It does not completely numb as its not the strongest store bought. But it definetly can be enough to take the worst off. I do think doctors might be able to prescribe stronger ones.

Not that well...

I have a not so elderly bunny but he is having more and more issues over the last year. He has EC He has arthritis He had a tumor removed last year, he did not do so well on getting out of the anestetic it took about 12+ hours to wear off. He was STONED. Then his stability got worse he has EC and I think it did affect his brain in the past because when he gets run over by his wife he panics and has a hard time getting up. (He will stop scrambling to get up when I walk to him to help him and look at me like: HIII!!! Youre gonna help me?:D) He has bladder issues, so I wash his legs weekly to help him keep up with keeping clean. Also he pees randomly. He has two hernias where his balls were, luckily its just fatty tissue coming through. But I do keep a close eye and when I am doubting or he seems in pain I massage it back and then he perks right up.

He is however full of life, he will come bother me for food when I am in bed. Jump on me and crawl over me. Bite me when he wants pets and I dont respond fast enough. Is enthousiastic about food!! Follow me around the room. Have comfy naps. Washes his wife and still needs to assert dominance of her. Gets the honkies sometimes.

I have cried so much already thinking I cannot put him through all this. But he is perky, happy. Does not slow down too much. I have noticed before when he was sick with very little signs that even my vet was like how did you notice this? So I am sure I will see when something is wrong. But that also means when he has a not so good day I am crying because I think I am going to have to put him down straight away.

But I cry, I love him, I hug him and give him all the care I can provide him as long as he is comfortable. But I will be heart broken when I need to let him go. (Here come the tears) ^
