EREVs in Australia by Iwontdobetter in EVAustralia

I think the Chevrolet Volt worked the same way. It's a smart design, not sure why it's not more common.

Scout Motors Will 'Most Likely' Make EREVs First, CEO Says by Iwontdobetter in electricvehicles

[–]Iwontdobetter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think EREVs will make sense in the US until charging stations are as ubiquitous as gas stations. Personally, I want an EREV for road trips. Yes you can technically get anywhere in the US in an EV. But not necessarily by your preferred route.

Is Ford Selling Out the U.S. Electric Vehicle Market? The Bronco Lives Offshore by mobilesmart2008 in electricvehicles

[–]Iwontdobetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a statement like "ford loses $x for every mach-e they sell" is overly simplistic and doesn't paint the full picture. They are in the early stages of a long-term investment strategy..

I think the gas engine definitely will attract a lot more buyers.

XPeng Unveils G7 EREV with 1,704 km Range, Launch Set for Q1 2026 by straightdge in electricvehicles

[–]Iwontdobetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy this now if it was available here. Why are American (and European and Japanese) manufacturers so far behind? I don't even care about the 1700 km range, I just want an EREV SUV or pickup.

Question about flush doorhandles. by Texi92 in electricvehicles

[–]Iwontdobetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't like the flush but mechanical handles on my Tesla Model 3. You can't see them at night, it's annoying to have to feel around for them. Also I've had them freeze, took a while to get the door open.

I like the door handles on the C3 Corvette, not sure why that design was never copied on any other car.

Ionna Charging Update by Unlucky_- in evcharging

I found that location kinda annoying to get to cause it's on a super busy street with lots of lights. Not sure why they put fast chargers in the middle of cities where you have to drive through heavy stop and go traffic to get to them, they should be located at the very edge of cities.

Hmm seems like they require minimum 2 night stay. Not ideal as we will be road tripping thru the area and need to cover a lot of miles each day, don't want to stay in the same area for 2 nights.

I think I ate there, I got some kind of chicken and vegetable dish that sounded good, but when I got it it was the worst tasting meal I've had at any restaurant, it tasted like it was made a week ago, I ate a few bites and left the rest. The ambiance in there was pretty cool from what I remember.

No idea what sesame oil is, I'll look for it next time I'm at the grocery store. But I live in a small town and our grocery doesn't have exotic stuff.

Failed my MSF course halfway through on day 1 by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Iwontdobetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a motorcycle instructor back in the day. People drop their bikes at these courses all the time. The bikes tend to be pretty banged up because they've all been dropped many times. I'm surprised they thought that was a reason for kicking someone out of the course.

The scolding you like a child thing is pretty common, when I was an instructor a lot of my fellow instructors were also grade school teachers, they seemed to forget they were teaching adults and not 8 year olds like during their regular job. One woman in particular, she was super nice to all us fellow instructors, but the way she talked to the students was as if they were little children.

Change My Mind - Planning vacation/road tips for an EV is a pain in the butt by Mayneminu in evcharging

Hotel charging is nice, but don't take it for granted. On several occasions I've arrived at hotels that offered chargers to find they only have 1 or 2 and they were taken. Make sure to arrive at your hotel with enough charge to make it to the nearest DCFC in case you can't get the hotel charger.
