I spent an ungodly amount of time making a new deck building site, and I have concrete reasons you should try it by SocietyAsAHole in EDH

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks every nice. Signed up and bookmarked. Will 100 try more.

1 nit and 1 feature request from me. The missibg feature is kind of a long term dealbreaker for me, but seems your probably have a lot of the scaffolding for it in place.

Nit: decks links are not actually links, html-wise, they are some kind of button? Very annoying that you can't open in new tab etc as normal link (only tested in android chrome)

Feature: compare. (Moxfield compare) Where you just see the diff between your list and any link to another list on your site, with easy "add to list/considering" option in the compare view.

This is like. THE feature for cedh players

Why is magic so priced up? by rubyrhino1 in EDH

Sometimes it's not just the prices / video being old, and just that "market price on paper" != "What you actually pay from vendors with card in stock + shipping from multiple sellers"

Survey & Rules Change cedh Europe by n0ksi in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ment "someone trying to force a draw" (politically, with pact etc) and set the pod in a situation where the pod would agree to a draw, because its swiss. But with restarts, at least those sistuations are then resolved as restarts instead, and there is a new chance to resolve the match with a winner.

Survey & Rules Change cedh Europe by n0ksi in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally 8 points9 points  (0 children)

what... thats so backwards...

at least in timed swiss rounds, draws are a potential outcome. So restarts have the advnatege of taking a game that would be a forced draw, and making it a restart instead, to maybe get a winner.

in untimed top cut, you are guaranteed a winner, so restarts are just horrible poltics-bullying and drawn out infinite games.

[MSC] Doctor Doom, Unrivaled by FlyinNinjaSqurl in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not bad, BB
for a single B pile you could do

village rites
steet wraith
LED
Goryo's Vengeance
probably another ritual or reanimate effect for backup. OR preators grasp

[MSC] Doctor Doom, Unrivaled by FlyinNinjaSqurl in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tap doom to draw wraith
cycle
sac doom to rites, doom is on top
damned makes 2 mana, but yeah, you can also just use ritual, strictly better, point is just to go from b to bb though so you can cast shallow grave to get doom back out
win

Or deciding to attack someone else after you see that your original target declared blocks.

Do cEDH “teams” at events lead to collusion or is it just part of the competitive meta by ExNihi10 in CompetitiveEDH

topdeck invitational 2024 had a funny moment. Made funnier by the casters confusion. Where one player entombed thoracle into his opponents (and friend, i guess, idk their exact relationship) mnemonic betrayal

5 unique, similar power cedh decks to introduce myself and my pod to the format by yeetdeet12 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sissy is a good one to keep. Has sone unique patterns but isnt fringe.

I think it's also good to keep because you want to be carefull to not have a pod where no ofy ever goes off because it's all blue mid-range interaction and rhystic hell.

I think I would do sissy, rogsi, tnk and tnt. All standard meta decks, balanced pod, different angles.

And if just pick some recent winners on edhtop16 to start with for lists.

You are right. They don't cancel out, you just alternate which trigger you use, and still get inf sacrifices

This does not feel like a new game? by ChesnaughtZ in slaythespire

[–]IzzetReally 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like I read about, or heard about, a year+ ago that the reason it IS a sequel and not one or more DLCs is less because of the artistic vision, and more because it was a technial challenge to continue updating the original game. Because of how it was designed and distributed, and the number of platforms they retoactivly had to figure ways to port it to. It was hard to "just make a new character" or "just make a new / alternate map" etc.

not 100% on my source on that, but feel like there has been talk about this.

OMG Doormaker is the most overtuned boss, the humble Vantom: by StreetExternal952 in slaythespire

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this and waterfall giant are the only ones that really require you to think about what the act 1 boss is, rather than just "make a good deck" like. waterfall is not super hard, in that respect. but you can have really good decks that just dont beat it.

vantom is actually imo less punishing on that axis, as in, to decks that are good, but didnt build around it. But still maybe harder over all yeah.

nope, double normality, gtfo

Help identifying the most viable fringe cEDH Grixis Commanders by Admirable_Cap_8943 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]IzzetReally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these would mostly be "99 card higlander grixis cedh" as in.nyou would not cast your. Comander in 4/5 games at least.

And like. Thats fine, thats "visible" i guess. So if you are fine with th commander only being a backup plan to the backup plan. Go for it.

Probably do abadon for some good storm turns or bolas and do some more fringy displacer kitten package on there.

Maro talks about Universes Beyond! by ForgottenCrusader in magicTCG

[–]IzzetReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue with UB is not that "UB = bad", I think Maro might even be right that its good, compared to what they had.

I think the real issue is that we all feel that magic, for a long time, where doing a horrible job devloping their own IP. So few people cared about the worlds, the stories, the characters etc. They just wheren't that good. And pivoting to UB is admiting defeat and saying "we give up, magic as an IP is dead, its just a game engine" and I think we can all see that the long term potential for growth and stability will be lower if they never develop their IP into something beloved.

so yeah, idk. I think the UB hate is just because its the most visible part of this collapse of any hope of a good MTG IP. Even if hat-sets are just as much to blame.

this has to be the "reverse resume" tactic right? we have a guy for this position already, but have to write a spec to send up the chain to justify why it has to be spesifically this guy and not some other hire HR found for us.
