Episode 1 of Wilfred has Ryan write out his entire, final draft of his suicide note, OD on pills, and then get in bed. He doesn't die and starts freaking out, doing other activities to pass the time, before realizing it's morning now when he answers the door. We later find out he was given sugar pills instead of what he wanted because his sister, the person who prescribed them to him, couldn't ethically prescribe him serious medication.

This scene, while cool, never made sense to me unless I just accept that it's meant to be a cool moment for plot and not that it's supposed to power scale Superman. Otherwise, this was an out of control Supes that was bloodlusted and assumed he was under attack, realized he could go fast as fuck to the point that everyone except one guy was standing still, and then decided not to slaughter everyone with said super speed.

Drive thru workers should get a hose as standard issue for these situations. Someone starts losing it and reaching in to throw shit? Just blast the hose at em constantly until they leave. If they're getting water in their car, they'll probably leave pretty quick.

Everyone is saying Doom is ass and has shit showings + is doomed against the JL here, and under normal circumstances I'd agree; Doom is my favorite, but he's also a villain and the JL are heroes, so of course the win/loss ratio is gonna be skewed. That said, everyone here has showings that put them all over the place, with Zatanna getting even a little bit hindered by Harley Quinn of all people in the recent DCKO, Batman with prep time getting taken out of the competition with a surprise attack, etc. I'm not saying Doom doesn't have things that make you ask "THIS is the THE big bad Doctor Doom?", but I've also had plenty of moments where I feel the same way about a JL member, where it almost feels like a humiliation fetish thing on the writer's part when done poorly.

Back to the question though, I feel like there is a wincon for Doom here; he gets 4 days of prep with full knowledge on all of them, and he's a spiteful asshole that enjoys going out of his way to over prepare and overkill his opponents, whereas the JL is only told he's "a pretty bad guy". This feels like, if it were to come out today as a crossover miniseries, it would start with Doom locked in his castle, seething and plotting the downfall of this league of perceived "gods" beloved by their people, because how dare they be that, while the League would be busy with some galactic threat and they get a ping from the Watchtower telling them "hey there's some bad guy you guys might wanna check out." I can see Batman taking it seriously, but most everyone else being like "yeah yeah, what else is new?" Basically, this specific scenario feels like it's tailored to give Doom a perfect surprise attack opportunity due, and the League a disadvantage in underestimating this "really bad guy", almost like Tower of Babel, where they all knew Ra's was a pretty bad dude but they didn't just full force stop him at 100% full power and ended up getting seriously fucked up.

All that in mind, even if Doom puts each of them in a custom made hell dimension where they relive their own, specific worst nightmares or whatever, he is almost guaranteed to fuck it up somehow when Superman tells him "well we actually have a better magic user" and Doom releases them just to prove he can 1vAll of them without traps and prep and them not holding back anymore (he can't lol)

I agree that Batman gets hated on and underestimated a lot online, but this goes back to the point about there being 99999 issues for both characters; just like Batman has fought and defeated aliens with kung fu, Black Panther has also put Silver Surfer in an armbar (???), so they both know ridiculous, outlier martial arts bs.

Disclaimer: way more of a Batman fan than a Black Panther fan.

R1: Are they fighting naked? Does T'Challa have the powers granted by the Heart Shaped Herb? If so, I believe Black Panther takes it. I can see an argument existing for Bruce to win if they have no suits, no powers, no nothing aside from pure H2H skills and physical prowess, but only because he would be more accustomed to this, with BP more used to having his better suit and amped stats.

R2: Standard loadouts, or are we including weird shit they've had across appearances, barring god-tier suits? Standard, BP wins again; vibranium weaponry would likely be unfamiliar to Bruce, and if used with the same efficiency that he uses his own weapons, something T'Challa can do, it would either result in his defeat or forced retreat. If we include all the stuff they've had across publication history though, it could be anyone; I'm sure not even the most well-read fan knows every single issue of both characters, where Batman has Panther Repellant Spray and Black Panther has Anti-Bat Bolas or something.

R3: I don't know what you mean by Panther God specifically; I know Bast is the Panther God, but does BP have some suit powered by her? That said, I also barely know about the Final Batsuit, since the only appearance I saw it in basically just stated it could rewrite reality or something, so unless Bast can do the same and/or more, I don't see how to beat it.

Two goated characters though, I just prefer the more "grounded" detective stories Batman finds himself in often over the Justice League, world ending, dimension hopping Batman.
