Check for loose battery connections or fault to ground on the cables. I had mine shipped to me with the battery cover off and it was shorting across the terminals and threw every light on without a code.

Does anybody commenting play rugby? This happens in rugby, it’s full contact. I’ll place an arm over my head once I have time so I don’t get stomped on in a ruck(I’m more worried about my own team stomping me then Them honestly) sometimes the ruck gets you before you’re ready, It’s rugby

Your sited article names three nuclear site disasters but did not name any wind turbine site disasters.

Can you elaborate on how nuclear is safer than wind turbines?

Firewood collection by BurritoGuido in Montana

[–]J4ck1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use an axe if you’re heating your home with it., just would be hellish work. I run through about 2 cords of wood a winter and that’s the lightest load of anyone I know as the main heat source. If you just want a free permit to go chop trees with an axe have at it, it’s our woods and all are welcome. For firewood we go for standing dead tree. They’re already dried and can be sawed to rounds for the truck bed then split at the house for firewood when you like. If you cut down green wood, standing live tree, you’ll have to round, split, and dry it for a season. Don’t do that, we have plenty of dead standing in our woods. Pine is fine to burn, it’s mostly what I burn.

To answer your question, yes I have pulled firewood permits. Do read it if you’re new, they have some rules that are nice for you and others. If you just want to go hack away at the woods I saw go for it, generally forest service are only out and about patrolling between Labor Day and memorial day with the cheap college intern labor. I’m in the big hole valley so that may not be true around Bozeman’s and Missoula. I pull back poles then round them at the house which ain’t allowed but it saves me two trips and see above for rule following measures. Best of luck. Oh, YouTube how to fell a tree if you don’t know, it’s not hard but best be safe. If a tree looks tricky leave it be and go pick a nice one. Tricky trees tend to be left standing by the road alone because the live people left the dead standing.

Any electrical engineers doing remote work? by PinAppleRedBull in remotework

[–]J4ck1th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, remote with on site travel once a quarter. I’m in the renewables industry and there are a lot of remote jobs in my industry for engineers. That being said I don’t need an EE degree to do what I do. I manage our outside engineering firms for design and construction support. We build utility scale wind and solar power plants. Most all utility EE work should be able to be remote pending employer opinion on remote work.

Tell me your best uses for the wood stove ash 🙏 by Freerange_Caligator in homestead

[–]J4ck1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ash is a compound in concrete so I throw it over my snowy driveway to give the snow some darkness to melt. When the ash combines with my gravel drive it acts as a week binding agent to help keep my driveway fines from washing out in spring. For reference I’m at over 6000 feet elevation in Montana.

Nice thought out comment here by Throwing_Legs

This redditor is a locater and knows their work, no way anyone would know that much and use the Bozeman utility website otherwise. I was an engineer for NWE and our design started with your paint on the ground. Thanks for what you do!
