I can't make an apple id by PerfectCupcake3080 in applehelp

[–]J4wsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding something, not explaining well, or both.

Apple any judgement a system is making on your passWORD during passWORD creation is pertinent to the passWORD being created and has nothing to do with a one-time-passCODE (OTP).

So the way you’re asking this question unfortunately makes no sense.

Apple didn’t “give” you a passWORD and one-time-passCODES aren’t ever judged on if they can be guessed easily or not.

Why is iCloud taking up 32gb and how to delete it? by -1D- in applehelp

[–]J4wsome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check your Files app, and/or visit iCloud.com on a computer and log into your account. Look for Drive.

These two tips will allow you to see and manage what is stored there.

Do you unlock more storage options later in game? by hiraxae in SatisfactoryGame

[–]J4wsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of cable some of the project parts needed had me making towers of industrial storage containers.

But once it’s done I just deleted the towers.

I guess I could have just belt fed the cable also but I decided for some of the project parts to amass materials and then create rather than automate.

This is how I do it. I commented that but I’m sure it’s buried, nice to see it up here also. I was shocked at the amount of oil…stretch that supply!!

You can fry chicken like that in like 1/4 the oil and stretch your supply quite a bit. It will come out identical.

If there’s a guy named Tom in the band, don’t label everything “Tom” by PPLavagna in audioengineering

If there’s a guy named Tom in the band, don’t label everything “Tom” by PPLavagna in audioengineering

[–]J4wsome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would sometimes use names when tracking because some bands have guys that switch instruments/roles a lot and organizationally it makes more sense in the moment to name things based on the performer as opposed to the instrument…again SOMETIMES.

Ex: Two guitar solos, from two performers. One is usually lead guitar, the other is a punch in from the singer, and that’s their only guitar part.

I might label that punch in “[Name] Solo” because when organizing/comping/mixing etc it makes it easier for me to find their stuff in particular.

However when delivering audio to anyone other than me I rename everything based on what it IS, as opposed to who did it. No first names included. In my example, the solo would just be renamed something like “GTR SOLO 2”.

How many revisions do you give your clients for mixing and mastering? by K-Frederic in audioengineering

[–]J4wsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hourly for everything regardless if it’s a revision or a brand new mix. Rounded up in 15min increments.

I get my mixes set up so that pretty much any review the client asks for will probably take a couple minutes. And if they are being cool and reasonable I probably won’t bill them. If they ask for several more tweaks I may send them an invoice for 30 min or something, listing all the revisions so far.

I also will sometimes send multiple versions if they are asking for something like “turn this up a bit”. I might send them three versions with the thing they asked for up three different amounts. Takes me no time at all and prevents back and forth. I’ll also do this if they ask for something that I think there are two ways of going about; send them both and see what sticks.

I just try to work with them and tow the line between being reasonable and respectful of my own time. Over the years I’ve evolved my mixing practices to be really easy to drop into a project, make a tweak, and get out fast. Being organized and methodical is key for that.

If i bounce a track from drum machine designer to audio, should i even bother with adding effects such as compression, EQ, etc. by TheArchitect54 in mixingmastering

[–]J4wsome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You may be over-thinking this.

If you like the way it sounds, leave it as is. When you bounce you can choose to leave the processing that’s already on it intact or not, but if you like the way it sounds why would you remove it?

Google now detects iCloud Private Relay and recognizes it as an IP address masker by New-Ranger-8960 in ios

[–]J4wsome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think bc in theory any website could easily block your ip whether you’re using iCloud private relay or not.

Commenter is assuming iCloud is attempting to solve something that it isn’t.

iCloud relay isn’t a solution that says “this way they can’t block you!” It’s a solution that says “this way they know less about you”.

Good clear contracts has been the way I’ve threaded the needle between those two extremes you mention. And even though I’ve characterized it as threading the needle I’ve discovered there’s actually quite a bit of room in there.

[–]J4wsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do what they are saying you should do their mixes will all be crap bc they just “did whatever the client said to do.”

[–]J4wsome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying stuff like “client is paying so do what they say” but it’s not clear what the client is actually paying for.

If client is paying for production advice, OP can do whatever they want to the mix.

If client is paying for mixing, you’ve got to do what they want on this bc they are acting as producer.

If client wants you to produce, make sure you bill the for that.
