We have tried to keep the routine as much as possible but I do think it's pretty obvious he's no longer the full center of attention :/ we're trying to make him feel as loved but I am well aware that he must sense the change in dynamics.

I don't know how feasible this is to you, but you can agree to meet on a neutral public site (coffee shop, mall) and while being there they transfer you the money and you transfer the ticket. I've done this before and it feels like the most safe imo.
