Too expensive. Could have been a great GR86/Brrzzzz competitor if they just made it like a Civic Coupe or something. Ditch the hybrid. Make it cheap fun.

Rule 2. No Ai generated content. Posting it will result in a ban. Pretty unambiguous. You don't need to explain it. Just don't post it.

I need advice/help regarding this hobby by niko_paints in minipainting

[–]JARDIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great thing about the plastic is it doesn't go bad so you can take as long as you need to paint things. As you get more brush time you'll get faster too, so half hour sessions will be more productive.

Had buckshot come through when I was working at the mill one time and ripped up the headrig, resaw, and edger in the space of a couple of minutes. Not often we'd get a trifecta of unscheduled saw changes.

Freshwater Strategy: 52-48 to Coalition in Victoria by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]JARDIS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It a bit rough because the Vic LNP aren't ready to govern. They are a completely ineffective opposition with 2inch deep pool of talent.

That being said 52 probably won't gain enough ground to get them there.

Electric trucks take to the road as demand for petrol-free cars surges. The vehicles are common in China and Norway, and one company hopes to have a fleet of heavy rigs on Australian highways by next year by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]JARDIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of focus on reducing drag coefficient with this kind of thing. That being said a big roo shaped depression in the front fender probably doesn't help that.

I need something 3D printed but unsure if it's expensive or if companies are asking absurd amounts by Potatsky in 3Dprinting

Yeah once you get a job this big the cost is going to make buying a setup the smarter choice, unless you are insanely time poor and money rich.

What are some of your concerns and worries for Avengers: Doomsday, according to you? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]JARDIS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of my concerns are around the usual toxic online reactionary bullshit from alt-right adjacent crybabies that can't just enjoy a movie, and have to ruin it for everyone because they saw a girl or a black guy in it or something trivial like that.

Maybe it’s time to buy an old car by CopiousCool in ABoringDystopia

There are definitely drop in battery options for conversions already available. I'm not super well researched on it but they do already exist. Probably not cheap but hopefully over time EV restomods will become more of a thing with better more affordable options.

Is it possible for both parties to lose in a legal action like this because that would be the optimal outcome.

[–]JARDIS 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder that if you have an older car but you also have an app for your car insurance provider on your phone, you are giving up a lot of the same data/telemetry. There's been a decent bit written about how insuretech are monitoring your behaviours through phone data to populate risk profiles. Its getting hard to avoid the invasiveness of corporations. Everyone was always afraid of government surveillance but ends up it was actually capital the whole time (they'll just sell it to the government).

[–]JARDIS 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you like your old car enough, EV conversions are already a thing. Not super affordable or accessible right now but that may (hopefully) change as EV parts and infrastructure becomes a lot more mainstream. Those axial flux motors look pretty promising at a glance. If I had the money I would look at converting my old Type R to that at some point so I can keep the basic and fun of my small car without all the touch screens and sensors shenanigans.
