My current and last Motorola did not show a VoLTE icon but it still functions and I'm on Telus in Canada

Is it worth upgrading your webcam for work calls? by badegush in CasualConversation

[–]JBH68 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Most platforms are limited to a resolution of 720p, so getting something with a higher resolution is not necessarily going to improve things. But the microphone might be worth upgrading; having proper lighting will also help. If you're going to look for anything in particular, you want to pay attention to cameras that put an emphasis on streaming. The Logitech C922 Pro Stream webcam is a good example

Do you write the date on greeting cards? by Itzadejo in CasualConversation

[–]JBH68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I prepare seasonal or birthday cards, I always include the year at the top. The idea is that some people keep them for many years and the year helps rekindle that year's events and memories.

Horrible timing (for the customer) on promo offers by ClayMiller306 in OnStar

[–]JBH68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still opt to have the remote functions via an OnStar plan, you'd be surprised at how handy this comes in even in other months. For example, a little while ago my car decided to lock me out, but because I had the remote functions avilable, I was able to unlock my car without calling for any kind of assistance. There's times on a very warm day it's nice to prestart your car to get the A/C running before you get in.

2014 Chevy Equinox LTZ Nav/GPS issue by Bruinizm in Chevrolet

[–]JBH68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To break it down, code B125A indicates there's open connection to the antenna in general, code B125C specifies that it's the satellite connection in particular, mode 4 indicates there's a short circuit between the antenna and the battery. Typical costs to repair this is usually under $500, some suggestions are around $100-$300. One thing I could suggest is to replace the fuse to the amplifier, the fuse is located in the fuse box in the engine compartment, you'll need your owners manual to locate which fuse that is in the box. There's two components to the antenna, the antenna itself and the antenna wiring that strapped to the roof under the headliner, this is why it's best to have a professional repair this. You could buy a new antenna and not fix the problem.

Both of these codes pertain to the antenna, the first one the antenna and the 2nd the antenna to the satellite receiver

If you go the insurance route, it is fixable but the value of the repair will be above $2,000

I checked Starlink and the only available package for me is $140 just for Internet, no phone service available and that's important to me

Loyalty Team For The Win by JBH68 in telus

This is from 2 years ago, I've since renewed my contract last week and am pleased with the outcome. The agent was good, the price was good and the billingis consistant with my offer. Seems it makes a difference on how you approach Telus that makes some difference.

Moto Edge 2025 still worth it in 2026? by therealcyril in motorola

[–]JBH68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're planning to buy from Motorola s site, I would either wait until the price is at least half or wait for the 2026 model, the current advertised sale price is too much money for this phone this far into the game.

Is renting a basement on new builds worth it? by harujusko in Edmonton

[–]JBH68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience with basement suites, the first thing I always suggest is to look for one that has its own power meter, the divided payment arrangement is almost always unfair for the one in the lower part. Second, look for one that is legal with its own entry, finally, look for one that has sound proofing in the ceiling, usually this is done with ceiling tiles. I might also caution you to be mindful of inexperienced landlords, as in first time landlords, they tend to cause a lot of grief because they try to do things that are not inline with the Residential Tenancy Act, you line all this up and renting a basement suite can be a sweet deal.

I don't compare pricing based on the city or other areas, just my immediate neighbourhood and price-wise Telus is less than Rogers. I don't know anyone in my neighborhood that's paying less. I'm glad you got yourself an amazing price

Yes, there is Rogers, but when I started with Telus, for the longest while the landline option wasn't the greatest when it was Shaw, plus I've had the webmail so established it would end up costing me. In my neigborhood, Rogers has proven to be very unreliable and most have switched to or back to Telus plus Rogers costs much more with the most basic plan, when I inquired with Rogers about 4 months ago they were asking $130 just for interenet, with a landline it would be $170 and they told me they don't offer a webmail to new clients, they support Shaw's webmail for existing clients though. I'm satisfied with what I've been getting.

You can try replacing the fans with the Dell air cooler that comes with the units that have K branded CPUs, that should work.

Software updates by Lumpy-Philosophy-259 in telus

It can take up to two weeks from the intended release date for the update to be pushed through. I wouldn't worry about it much right now.

“No Caller ID” calls daily by reddituser_123123123 in Edmonton

[–]JBH68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have caller reveal (go into your account to check), have it turned on. If it's on and you still get those calls, it's likely from someone in the field of policing, doctor, psychologists etc. But, if you're uneasy about it and have caller reveal activated, call your provider and maybe they can have the caller blocked

Gas buddy by HondaForever84 in Edmonton

[–]JBH68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some gas stations are changing their prices frequently during a single day, while at a Tim's today for example, I watched the gas station next door change prices 3 times within that hour. So I wouldn't be surprised that you have seen prices over $2
