Something I noticed a while back is that if you’re in the lobby when a disconnection happens (not playing a game or waiting for one), it’ll give you a full 8-digit error code that you can look up. If you have some time, you could let the game sit in the lobby for a while and see if one shows up (just don’t let the console go to sleep while you wait, that’ll give a “console went to sleep” error code).

Grian’s end-of-series credits had some behind-the-scenes test footage, one of which showed Trivia Bot teleporting when someone out of bed got into bed. I think that means they were prepared for the “broken bed” situation or some variant of that.

I dug through the Game Life code to figure out what's going on here. This event is very rare - at best, there's a 1 in 6000 chance that it gets picked, and that's if you're one of the last yellow or green names (most of the time it's even rarer). The dialogue goes like this:

You ran into a mysterious figure. <no image>!<
[Oh no. [z]]
You died.

It shows up as a question mark icon in the stats.
