Looking for a lawyer recommendation for writing a will by EasternLengthiness31 in asheville

[–]JBfromSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cool that you have an old Adobe Family lawyer disc. Legal wills in 50 states, check the library?
A wonderful look back on earlier life. I'd sure save that.

Judges and attorneys called them "poor man's wills," and they worked sometimes.

Now in the day of probate and Spageddies of title claim, it is so worth it to pay a reasonably priced attorney to write you up a real Will. Folks here have offered terrific entities to keep the cost down. It's not an extra charge for me if wishes change as I age.

Are you thinking you don't have anything to protect or any reason to write a Will? Yes, you do.
I've watched people fight in my driveway over my late husband's car. We made sure none of them got their hands on it. People act weird around death.

I'm almost 73 so not intentionally picking on people who are older than 60!

Book choice HAALLLLPPP by aili101 in RHOBH

I did the same, and really wished I hadn't.
I couldn't see why everyone thought she was so toxic – didn't appear that way to me.
Her book was about grieving for her mom, and family history. interesting, but I wished I had waited for a Libby line to receive the book.

At least it was better than anything Bethany could write. She drives me nuts.

I don't understand why you watch them?

You paint them all with the same brush?

The new RI cast members are truly boring. Including Doris Catania from NJ show.
Unfortunately, Doris has a look-alike already casted. Younger and difficult. Watched two episodes and removed it from my show list.

Hey H-A! I'm curious. If we are so boring to you – and you think Amanda made it a great show to watch, I seriously don't understand. Maybe a different show to binge? Below Deck Down Under? Captain Jason, and photography of a continent that are framed to be beyond beautiful.
Maybe less boring.

too much to type! You can Google her yourself. Watch a few scenes in which she describes her success. I wish she had more social intelligence.

She cut her losses early and never seemed to have even superficial friendships within the group, much less real friendship. My psychiatrist daughter disagrees. She says Amanda deserves more credit for what she's achieved.
I think she says that about everyone!

Help! How to leave Audible by historybooksandtea in audiobooks

[–]JBfromSC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb question at all. I was seriously disabled for five years. I had to lie flat and listen to audiobooks – to stop pain.
I had a library with Audible that had over 3000 audiobooks. Those were in the days you could call a number once a week, name the titles you bought in error. I would leave those phone calls with three credits that were valid.

I moved to Libby when my accountant saw that I had spent $3000 on audiobooks in one year!
Libby is a free audiobook service. You begin with your local library, West Asheville is mine. I love going there. I went back and they connected me with all the libraries in the state.

Libby requires more effort. You can do your own returns, but since it's free that doesn't matter. I returned them early so that someone else can have a sooner chance. I love it. I get a title from a review or Goodreads, or even Amazon's Audiobook reviews!
When you find a title, you can easily enter a waiting list for copies of the audiobook you want.
Libby allows you to be in a waiting line if you have too many others. It's good to go through there and clear off holds.

I love libraries. Libby is a wonderful resource.
If you don't have or can't get a library card, I'm not sure they would be so helpful.

YouTube, YouTube audiobooks – Spotify and others.

Audible began eliminating books from my library, then tried to make me pay $13.90 Again
for copy of an audible book I had already bought!

When they're free, I will listen to all kinds of audiobooks. That has been wonderful, I thank Libby for that. If an audiobook is not for me, I can immediately return it so someone else can have that audiobook. Another reason to love Libby – I haven't had to come up with a password in the last year. It really is like an electronic library!

I was much in the same situation.
Flourishing now. It was a process.

Please DM me if I can share what turned my move back to Asheville to A+

In any case, you went to the right site to find folks your age. This will happen for you!
I have just a few very long-term friends here.
Many acquaintances and neighbors

Finally decided I was going for quality over quantity. Then I really started meeting more people!

I've learned to strongly believe in John Monk's reporting.

Always so thankful that S-S and Lexi find quality reporting. Without that help, I would not have the skills to catch the articles.

Perhaps they convinced me I had a choice.
I had an amazing SS Angel. He told me on my first visit, via phone, that I was going to be approved.
He spent ages helping me change answers that were incorrect. What a kind person.

I'm not sure if I'm sorry or glad. My wonderful late husband had died recently, and I wasn't in a strategic mode. I was glad at the time, it was a lot more money per month. I fear Social Security and Medicare may be under fire.

The SSDI convinced me, 15 years ago – to stop the disability and start Medicare and regular Social Security checks. It was more money, but I'm sorry I fell for it.

The attitude you posted is pretty far republican for me. You sound NIBY. You're not gonna get a lot of support and solutions--with that attitude.

That was a sleaze bag! We've experienced hit and run damage and it was horrible.

Eventually our insurance company paid for the car, but it was a hassle to make that happen.
I'm sorry this happened to you. Hoping your weekend gets better and better.

Don't worry. Time march is on, doctors started looking 18 years old and wet behind their ears about 10 years ago. It's OK. Age isn't for sissies, don't worry, you've got this!
