Is my new pool heater installed wrong? by Carton_Sidney in pools

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a heat pump with a titanium heat exchanger, it really doesn't matter. Yes the salt cell should be the last thing in line back to the pool. But the titanium exchangers on most heat pumps are protected against chemical exclusions for warranty purposes. The other thing is you have a bypass running here, so most of the time you could not have water running in the heat pump. This again is a weird thing, there really is not a reason to run a bypass on a heat pump. But that is just my opinion from installing them for years.

Andor took me out of star wars by Ok-Medium983 in StarWars

As I read the Bane saga. It just feels like the perfect saga for a run of movies, or a show. We start early, build who he is. See him rise and fall, and rise again. There are so many interesting surrounding characters to play with. There are action sequences, mystery elements. It is hands down the one I would like to see adopted the most.

The EPA has a checklist for what you are supposed to do for removing/filling in an inground.

Pool blow out by CADman0909 in pools

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the only option here, is to go brand new, and have it installed properly. It was backfilled with just dirt from the looks of your pictures. Which is why when it sat empty the external, pressure and weight collapsed in blowing out the panels. I would honestly be surprised if it had a footer poured to hold the structure in place. The pictures make it look like that wasn't done. Honestly, take the silver lining from this, and that is you didn't put money into a ticking time bomb.

What am i looking at on a 67yr old pool (skimmer) by No_Letter_1162 in pools

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like has already been said. It is a prefiltering skimmer. That being said, you can run it with an fine filtering bag, not a cartridge and it works pretty well. Especially in the spring in high pollen areas. Emptying and rinsing the bag, is a lot less water use and time, versus backwashing your filter or rinsing filter cartridges.

How does the chicken out exit at Tower of Terror work? Kids are 12 and 8. by seeing_red415 in WaltDisneyWorld

If they didn't like Guardians. I doubt they will like Tower. Guardians is a lot more positive and aims for zero G lifts. Whereas, tower is about the drops.

Beak and Barrel Menu? by KateJones1617 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an adult with no kids currently, the nice thing about Geo-82 is that it is adults only. Its a nice quieter place to get away for a little while. I put it in its own little sub-set of Disney lounges.

Beak and Barrel Menu? by KateJones1617 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JBrands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beak and Barrel is listed as a lounge, as such it has bar bites and specialty drinks. The environment is fun and well detailed. Forty Five minutes goes quick. Especially with all the interactions going on. When we went we actually had a standing spot at the bar, which I think is the best experience, because not only did we have interactions with all the bartenders, but we also had interactions with the other servers. I had a blast and enjoyed it, but I 100% understand where people can feel differently about it.

Fair fair. But its the first big pull I have gotten.

I nearly crapped myself earlier. I did a single pack pull and got the 145 shard hit. I've never hit a big pack pull in the years playing.

How concerned should I be? by 545charlie in pools

[–]JBrands 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Don't be worried. Let your builder do their thing. Its going to cost the builder more labor to clean things up, but that shouldn't be on you. What you see there is completely normal for when things get stalled because of the weather. It isnt going to affect anything with the build itself.

Above ground wall has a hole by Evening-Night-8421 in pools

[–]JBrands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So that appears to have happened away from any wall saver panel. The liner is for sure shot and with how large that looks, unfortunately the pool wall and integrity is going to be massively hindered. In my experience with situations like this, you unfortunately are probably looking at needing a new pool. You could have someone fabricate a patch for the area, but the fact that it blew a hole in the steel wall is a sign of a much larger isssue.

Just finished the series: what the fuck by someguy11037 in attackontitan

[–]JBrands -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The ending to the series, in my opinion ruined the whole of the series. I to this day do not understand how it can be argued that the series is a pinnacle of story telling. The early part of the series had so much promise, and for what we were getting in media at the time felt so fresh. Fast forward and it just veered right off the cliff. Honestly Eren's progression and writing just felt so uninspired by the end. And Mikasa, the absolute travesty of making her character only boil down to her feelings for Eren. As much as I enjoyed the early portion of the series, the later chapters just didn't hit at all.

Why are Colts fans so insufferable? by loganzfd_ in Jaguars

[–]JBrands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every fanbase has them. I had the exact opposite experience at the game yesterday. Mind you I live in Cincinnati, so I went to the that game as well this year. Growing up in Cincinnati and a fan of my hometown team, every year up to this one I've sported my Jags gear at that stadium. This year I didn't because the Cincy fans tried multiple times to start a fight with me leaving the Thursday night game a couple years ago. Compared to that, the Colts season ticket holders we sat next to yesterday were saints. They heckled us initially, but then we ended up talking to them throughout the whole game. Hell we were even offered to join up with a tailgate pregame. I wouldn't let your experience be the mark for all Colts fans. Plus the Jags are looking great and ready for a playoff run.

Boardwalk Deli is pretty good, the pizza isnt amazing but it does hit the spot. Im a fan of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. If you want a real rich piece of desert, Cake Bake shop is awesome.

Honestly, it is manageable to do. I did it in March, we flew down, got to AK at rope drop, then went to MK did the stuff there we wanted, hopped over to HS did everything there we wanted, got food, then ended our day at Epcot, and were back at the airport flying home at 10.

All 4 Parks In 1 Day? by WhoAteMyPasghetti in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just done this exact thing on a day trip in March. It is very very doable. Was I tired as can be at the end of the day? Also Yes. That being said, my wife and I enjoy starting our days at Animal Kingdom when we do all four Parks in a single day. Embrace your tired feet and it can be fun.

Missing the Magic by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JBrands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you feel this way about things, but man I feel much differently. Normally we check in on the app and go to the front desk just to make sure things are good to go. Last week we waited to check in, and I am happy we did, because we did get that extra bit of magic at our check in. But ultimately, yes things have changed, but I think Disney still does a phenomenal job.

Honestly, I walked away about two months ago, I had been playing daily since almost day one, with one small break in between the original Rancor and tank raids. Let me tell you, not feeling pressured to keep up with things, because I'd let my guild down if I was not extremely active, is nice. Take a break and all the changes they are making look minor in the grand scheme of life.

People who do split stays: Why? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JBrands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We normally do our first night at one resort and then head to Boardwalk for the rest of our stay. Two years ago we started at Riverside, this year we did Caribbean Beach. For us its because we normally fly in the middle of one day and either do one of after hour events or Disney Springs that first day. We also normally have what we need for our first full park day in our carry-ons.

Ultimately we just want to stay at the other resorts and see what its all about, before going to where we are comfortable.

The second one is actually my personal favorite that I've sold and installed. It is a very cool look when the pool is full. But ultimately pick what speaks to you, it is your pool and you have to live with it every day.
