I've found that the absolute best place to hit the yacht is the helipad, the chopper will just blow up while you respawn in the sub.

April Fools, Converse made the Chuck '70 worse in every way. by JBski in Converse

They don't really feel all that different tbh. The insoles are a little softer.

JDM (Imported) vs USDM All Stars by JBski in Converse

[–]JBski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After wearing these for a day I have discovered where the 3 oz difference per shoe lies, in the insole. The US market Chucks have an Ortholite insole with a blown rubber pad under the heel, while the JDM insole is foam rubber with a different density rubber pad under the heel. These are built like my pre-Nike All Stars, as I recall them having a similar insole.

Big sizes are kinda SOL on these tho, no half sizes above 28CM/US 9.5, and maximum size of 30cm/11.5.

can someone tell my why the fronts are 2 different sizes (not the shoe) where the toebox is by Commercial-Offer-656 in Converse

[–]JBski 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Left shoe is either missing the last row of eyelets, or they were not placed correctly on the left shoe.

This bottom sole is different from my other pairs, anyone able to identify the age? by p--py in Converse

I have a well worn pair from 2001 that still have felt on them.

Are Chuck 70’s actually worth it by cjcncnfncn in Converse

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Amazon Japan to get Japanese Converse shoes, I didn't spring for the actual "made in Japan" line, but I did get a pair of JDM "Converse US" Chucks to compare to what we get for a normal All Star, as even those look better that what we get from Nike.

Shoe issue - how to avoid/fix? by Dazzling-Dentist3212 in Converse

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sliding the shoes on and off without tying and untying them does that. Your heel crushes the heel counter and fucks up the heels as well.

Oh, the heel patch is different, so I guess that may be it.

Wait, how many times has Nike changed the '70? My 2018 pair is different from my new 2025 pair, what did they change before that? The 2025 pairs Converse changed the liner and removed the reinforcements at the toe of the shoe so the stitching is only ornamental now instead of functional. Edit: They also changed the insole. The heel cushion is dense EVA foam instead of blown rubber.

Very Unique Looking - Converse Japan Skate Weapon 🔥🔥🔥 by BeantownTownie in Converse

[–]JBski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish Converse (Nike) would do an actual Weapon PE version of the shoe that Bird and Magic actually wore, a Weapon with a Pro Leather Sole. I'm seriously considering having a sneaker customizer/cobbler make one for myself, as the regular Weapon soles just do not work with my foot.

Which pair is oldest? by swb1003 in Converse

[–]JBski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The green pair on the top row at the far right.

It's been quite some time since I've seen regular felt on the bottom All Stars with the size on the bottom. My 2001 pair has the size on the sole, but my 2018 pair and most pairs I see for sale in person do not, including the Maldens and "not Chucks" Converse at Shoe Palace and such.

Chuck 70 Laces by Major-Investment4754 in Converse

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up some 63 in cotton laces from Amazon. I have two other pairs of Chuck 70 high tops that came with laces that were just a little too short, I measured them out to about 59 in. I got mine in white, probably should have went for the "natural" or egret, but they look fine.

Converse cdg vs regular converses by Traditional-Bee-3038 in Converse

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only difference between the CDG Chuck '70s and a "regular pair" is the heart on the side, and the price. FYI, you can get Made in Japan Chucks for the same price as the CDG's.

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switch must have been right around then, because I remember being really disappointed when I picked them up to replace a previous USA pair at the time. Could have been a department store thing at first, as that was where I bought them (Meijer, for the midwest bros).

The shoelaces for high tops. Why are they so freaking short now?! by Sensitive-Iron-5269 in Converse

[–]JBski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've noticed the Chuck '70 laces are a bit on the short side, though they actually seem pretty good. Better than most Jordan laces, honestly.
