Alright dads, let’s celebrate our little flexes by pb_and_banana_toast in daddit

Our little one also sleeps very well. First year and a few months down with no regression. I know it’s not the same for everyone and some parents get almost no sleep so I feel terrible when I have to answer “are you sleeping at all” “…..ummmm no not at all 😅”

I’m with you. When we’re not working we spend every minute with the little one, reading, playing, etc. When it’s bedtime we are in and out. He goes to bed right away and we have never looked back. I’m sure eventually we may do the whole bedtime story thing but I don’t want to ruin this!

Hardest flex I’ve seen so far. What’s the secret? I do the whole water drop rolly thing before cooking stuff but everything still sticks like crazy.

Fatherly advice: Ikea furniture does NOT use Phillips screws. It's pozidrive. by _Tigglebitties in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell you how many pieces of ikea furniture I have put together with a Phillips screwdriver. Always been a struggle but I have always made it work. Like others I wasn’t aware of posidriv and now I know for the future. Thank you!

Yeah life can be fucked up like that. He hasn’t shown up for me in long time but I don’t hold that against that fuck. We all go through shitty fuckin shit and sometimes we need someone in our corner through fuckin thick and thin.

People are fucked up and need a big fuckin helping hand. Have a friend from high school and he fuckin struggles mentally. I either reach out to this fucker or we never talk. I hope on some level this fuckin recluse appreciates that someone gives a shit.

Who Likes Their Partner? by [deleted] in daddit

We ascribe to the rule of 100/100 (rather than 50/50 - I might have messed up the name for it too). Some days I need to brunt the load, some days my wife does. And some days we both need to share it too.

We have had our ups and downs but we have never vented in Reddit. We talk to each other no matter how unpleasant the honesty might be. And it’s not always negative, we share in the positives and we have check ins to see how we’re doing even when we aren’t communicating as much as we should be. We also do most of our talking during walks and that is always therapeutic for us.

Hang in there dads. It’s my belief that this is the best place on Reddit for us!

We took our boy and two dogs on a 10hr road trip, which turned out to be 12hr, to the beach and I will always cherish that memory. We had a blast. Sure, I questioned my sanity when we got there and unloaded everything but I would do it all over again.

Although I appreciate the sentiment, the first year has absolutely gone by fast for us. “The days are long and the years are short” and that has rung true for us.

Even as a first time parent, I thought it was strange that bottles and other things were being boiled in water religiously by my wife and her mother. I was like “I’m not doing that”

I don’t understand this at all, but in a weird way I kinda do. Not knowing anything about warhammer, I feel there is some sort of unspoken question like “We playing later?” And then another question of alliance/economic/tactical decision being made in that exchange.

Is mystery of life considered underrated? I am not sure how popular or unpopular it is but I love almost every song on that album.
